As long as it gets here, with not too much edits.

I'm beginning to wonder whether this "new animation" is actually the mechanical episode that was put out... it's basically a narration by Kira Yamato's seiyuu with clips and specs of the suits... hardly new, but then again it can probably be considered "new" here...
*ish happy that GITS:SAC was the high performer*

If you are referring to the "additional animation (not seen in the series*, I'm fairly certain they were simply talking about the additional footage that was inserted into GS SE (which is why it's SE and not just GS movie or something of that nature).

I doubt it'll be on TV so fast in America, at least, since they haven't even finished showing SEED, and even if they finished right now, it's only had one run through the episodes. No, it'll probably be another year before SEED Destiny gets on TV. |
Well, for Canadian broadcast, I'm hoping for January... that seem fair enough?

See, this is why I didn't bother getting the fansubs-I know this was just a matter of time.
Why did Bandai wait so long to announce it,though? Don't they own Gundam outright?

I wonder why nothing was said about Double Zeta being released.

I'm a bit saddened by this because I wish i could've at least caught up with the fansub community I'm only on episode 13 now i have to stop downloading them. Don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic to hear that its coming to the states since I've been wondering what Lunamaria and Stellar's dub voices would sound like. I just hope I dont go through Destiny withdrawls ( lol ) while waiting for the DVD's cause I always looked forward to fridays since that was the only day I had time to watch the episodes I downloaded.

Before I start, let me first say that I am ambivalent on the whole fan-subbing after licencing issue. In no way here will I dare to condone or malign it.
animewolf17, even though AnimeSuki has removed their links, there are still fan-subbers that will not view this licencing as an impediment to their occupation. I'm sure if you google for links you'll come across some, and if you check out a bit of the SEED fandom, you'll see links for websites that will still continue to post them.

Looking at Yu-Gi-Oh! and Groove Adventure Rave, I feel that a license announcement made by a disreputable company such as 4Kids or Tokyopop is equivalent to no license announcement at all...i.e., I believe in screwing the bastards to the wall.
But in any case, Bandai (one of the most reputable groups in the U.S.) has licensed SEED Destiny and it will be uncut...asking the fansubbers to stop completely would possibly be foolhardy and unwise, but they should definitely cut back.
As for Double Zeta...expect it to get the Zeta treatment. DVD boxset with minimal fanfare...and no songs that they'd have to license. (Which is why I say one of the most. I despise Konami immensely for its many transgressions, but they actually kept the soundtrack for Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim despite frequent declarations that it would be absent due to licensing problems, while Bandai was too greedy to license "Z Toki wo Koete", "Mizu no Hoshi he Ai wo Komete" and the other themes. And that's why a Zeta Gundam boxset does not grace my anime collection.)

Hm...yeah, I guess that's possible, since SEED is doing well in Canada's ratings. I hate how most of the "good" anime of the new Toonami down here (i.e., Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam SEED) didn't do that good and got taken off (though Yu Yu did show a lot of episodes on and off, taking time off to let other shows play). Meanwhile, Dragonball GT brings in the ratings as always, along with other "imitation anime."

They were. Speaking parts for Rusty, confirmation of Kira & Fllay's bedroom activities, cameos by MSV mobile suits, Raww le Klueze's very anticlimactic face-shot, and stuff like that. Nothing that your average Gundam fan doesn't already know about.

...the one that releases it here. I'll leave you to figure out which one that is.
General rule of thumb: Bandai Japan automatically gets rights to most (all?) of Sunrise's titles before they even air, because they're the ones that produce the merchandise. The only one that actually has to worry about "acquiring rights" is Bandai America because it's their job to pick & choose the choice morsels to import.

My guess is they'll use SEED's popularity to push Double Zeta by announcing it later on Destiny's coattails. It'll likely be a box set or two that'll probably be announced around late spring or summer with release dates in the fall or winter area.

Well, even your regular SEED fan can take a strong hint as to what Kira and Flay were doing soon after the Archangel landed in the desert, after all, she was in his bed with little to nothing on, and he wasn't on the floor, but got out of the same bed to get his uniform on. if that doesn't scream out "THEY HAD SEX!", then I'm not sure what does

Well... Hoshizora no Believe DOES get played in one ZZ episode (background radio music), but I guess that is easily fixed.
However, if Bandai DOES choose to release ZZ (and I know Jerry said they would... But read on), it would be an even more limited run than Zeta. Apparently, Zeta is barely able to sell even a fraction of its 10,000 copies limited run, and for a show like Zeta, which enjoys one of the best reputations in the Gundam community, not selling REALLY doesn't bode well for unreleased shows like ZZ and Victory.
