As for the "boku" comment – song lyrics aren't necessarily written from the POV of the singer/writer. Most likely she was just going for a male perspective.

That is what I would have figured.

Anyway for those who give a toss (all five of you), a CD has been put out containing a bunch of the other "live" songs performed with the show, so full length versions of things like "ballpoint pen", etc. A lot of the singing is done by Toyasaki Aki, whose voice I find pretty grating barring a few exceptions. 3 out of 5 in my book, but worth at least giving a listen.

Hmm...that'd be me, darkchibi07, cnet128, yourself, and...whoa, Five?! We got _that_ many "Teatimers?" Or "Keionbu-yahs?" Or...Hey, Guy, what the heck should we call us Afternoon Teatime "fans," anyways? But way to give one more shout out to us...RECOGNIZE!! Anime hyper

I've heard a few tracks, and it's nice to finally get a full-length version of "My Love is a Stapler." But make no mistake about it, Yui's lead vocals are a decidedly acquired taste. Azusa's guitar work (or whoever plays "Azusa's" guitar part) almost saves the "alternate" version of Fuwa Fuwa Time. Sorry, but Mio (Yoko Hikasa) owns Fuwa Fuwa. Especially because of her awesome Red Hot Chili Pepper-esque rap/breakdown thing in the bridge. Yui's (Aki's) attempt at said breakdown...kinda broke down. Re: the whole "album"...Not ENOZ, but not bad; with a little more Mio, it could have at least approached "very good" if not "great," IMHO.

That's six people who care about K-On! I almost bought the CD this past weekend at Otakon.

I care about K-ON too, I rarely get to find any anime music CDs, but I am a fan of the K-ON songs. I will just pretend that I haven't download or will download these songs. I will give some of these a listen when I have enough time.

Episode 14! What, you didn't know there was an extra DVD/BD-only episode in it? Surprised

And lookie here, an episode all about music! The girls got their first gig at a live house which led up to be a little overwhelming. But they pulled through. There are a lot of fun moments such as:

spoiler[- Uhhh, you girls better help Ritsu with the scheduling since she is a LAST person to ever rely on that type of matters!
- 80's glam rock, K-ON style?!
- The other girl bands in the live house.........oh my! Shocked
- Thankfully one of those members knew Ritsu and Mio, and she was the one who arranged the whole thing.
- Time to determine how they'll utilize the stage, sound, and lighting. Since Yui knows absolute squat of anything, she kept asking the "scarier rock band" for advice. Mio was rather shocked.
- Rehearsal time.......which it ended up being a total FAIL. But they persevered at the real deal!
- Ayu-nyan.....tiger ears!!!
- 19 days too late for us, but it's New Year's Day for them.]

I'm ready for a season 2 on this thread! Cool

I just watched episode 14 and it was cool, it was refreshing to watch, though I listen to the songs quite often. I found myself snickering quite loudly, I hope no one heard me (it is 3 in the morning).

So this is what KyoAni have been working on for a lately, well that and the Haruhi movie that is being released pretty soon aswell. We had alot of Mio's head exploding and Yui, well just being Yui. Guess I am hyped for the new season later this year.

Hmm. This episode is how I wanted the original season to end. Not with a silly school show, but with an spoiler[actual live performance. ]

However, I am very disappointed that they cut out all 4 songs. Giving us part of "Fuwa Fuwa" doesn't cut it, imo, since we have heard the song 10 times by now. I mean, yeah, the songs are all on my ipod, but still, I actually want to see the girls play the songs.

I hope we will get to see something better next season, but by cutting out the songs, this bonus episode left me feeling empty.

But! I feel like this is a very good step to jump into the second season to...so here's to the future!

This episode was great for me, because it was very reminiscent of my first live show.. I had no experience hooking my rig up through a PA system, and was getting a ton of feedback; I missed pedal changes, messed up some lyrics and was generally nervous as hell. I never had to ask specifically for any lighting things or anything though, but trying to organise the levels and stuff was pretty scary. I hope the new season (?) shows more of their progression from a simple high school band for fun to a more serious professional rock act, because that's where the real trial begins. I liked hearing the other band's players too, because that's really what it's like; "the second you give up, it's all over"... it's so true. I think it was good how despite their easygoing nature, the members of the band realised how serious these other bands are and how naive their Budokan ambition would seem to them. Hopefully the knock it up a couple of notches and we start to see them working hard to achieve their goal instead of what they have been doing, which is sitting around, eating cake and being moeblobs and still achieving their goals...

That sounds so cool man, and until now I'm just a bedroom rocker... Sad

Soooo, are you guys ready for the second tour of K-ON!!? Surprised

I did in fact check out the OP and ED sequences at the very least. I'm rather on the fence of the OP song, but ED features the girls in 80's casual clothing (though interestingly enough Mugi is wearing an actual sailor outfit) while being inside a delicious cake...........

I still prefer Mio's singing than anyone else and this doesn't disappoint.

I agree. I feel like the song has been sped up, or they gave the girls some helium during their recording.

The show itself...is K-on! There's nothing new here. If you liked the first season, you will like the second. If not, then you won't...move along?

As an aside, are we continuing here, or is someone going to make a K-on!! thread?

Wait, this isn't Alvin and the Chipmunks as the OP would have me believe?

I didn't like the OP the first time I heard it but I repeated it about three times and started liking it. The ED was fine. Not as good as "don't say lazy" but it was fine. I wasn't really looking forward to this as I was "oh look, a season 2. Well, I enjoyed the first, This'll be a fun side trip."

Yui's solo at the beginning was effing amazing though. WINDMILL!
