I had no idea that Voltron was such a hotly contested franchise. I have no idea why Voltron would be such a hotly contested franchise. (Yes, I used to watch the show & liked it at the time. But I don't know that it's worth a lawsuit over who makes a new version.)

Re: We've sat on our tails since 2004, but now that the project is finally moving forward without us, we want to cash in. Such idiocy. Well, nothing to do now but wait for another 5 years for the movie to get released. |

I just like how they're suing over a franchise they're not even willing to pay to get the rights from Toei before deciding to make it.

I agree with Gatsu. Toei could have every right to yank the project.
I will just be happy to see an unedited version of "Go Go Lion" or a re-dubed version of both Voltron series. I am also a fan of the original fan of the series. I have a novel idea. Why not do a re-dub version of voltron and keep the principle actors who did the five lions. try to keep with original story of the Japanese version and sell it to fans in 5 lion shaped (vehicle shaped for vehicle voltron). Heck it worked for Macross. So much heads not enough brains... |

Media Blasters did release an uncut version of Beast King GoLion and a Release of Armored Fleet DaiRugger XV is upcoming, unless of course you mean a dubbed version, as the MB release was sub only
a little difficult as Lennie Weinrib (Hunk, Lotor) passed away a few years back Last edited by Vicserr on Wed Sep 23, 2009 3:23 pm; edited 2 times in total |

But... Media Blasters did release the uncut GoLion in R1. As for dubbing GoLion in English with the original Voltron actors, Lennie Weinrib (who voiced both Hunk and Lotor) died a couple years ago, so obviously that won't be happening (not that it would have been likely to even if he were still alive). |

Clearly, there's only one solution to this problem. The same solution to any problem.
FORM BLAZING SWORD. Anyway, all I see this doing is making Toei even more paranoid and reluctant to license its works to the US. <sigh> |

-.- As if Toei wasn't having enough trouble with nonsense. Hopefully, nothing from this works back at them, or changes their opinion about making/licensing future products in the US.

And also Peter Cullen (Coran/Narrator) wants nothing to do with Voltron anymore. (He refused to take part in that cheesy '90s CGI sequel.) |
