If Viz can get the new episodes of Inuyasha dubbed on Cartoon network at the same time the Japanese version plays in Japan that would be revolutionary. I mean Inuyasha still comes on Adult swim why not just replace the old episodes with the new.

I checked the iTunes store, and there is no indication that the first episode of Inuyasha is free. Is this an offer available only to the US, and not Canada? Or has the price not actually been set as free yet?

I'm in the US and it's listed as free. Probably is a US only deal.

Yeah, I downloaded the episode for free a while ago, so no luck for those up north.

FYI, the opening song has been removed. Instead of playing "Change the World", it's playing the best known musical piece of the whole series. It's the same thing over with the streams at Hulu. Viz must not have the rights to it or something. But I have to say that I like the opening a lot better now, even if it isn't the original version.

Are the InuYasha episodes being offered on iTunes English dubbed, or English subbed with original Japanese voices?

English dubbed only.

I don't think there's been any subbed anime on iTunes, which is a bummer, but I believe that it has something to do with iTunes's policy and their not wanting people to read the subs on their iPods. That's the only thing that comes to mind.
