The Clannad movie premiered in theaters in Japan on September 15 last year about three weeks before the TV show premiered on October 3. |

Are you guys ready for After Story?!
I did check out the new OP sequence which is sung by Lia. The smooth, gentle build-up of the song almost reminds me of the OP in Air TV which I hope it doesn't forebode to anything bad. 
Overall, the OP did give off a different feel than the first one. It seemed like this one has a denouement feeling this time. And not to mention when they're doing that character introduction in the OP (which the girls are in their spring/summer uniforms), spoiler[I think I saw flashes of them of what they'll become when they're a little older. Someone correct me on that!] And before anyone asks, Fuko is not part of the character intro, but spoiler[you do see the back side of her hugging Ushio.] |

woohoo the old clannad thread!
i like the old OP of clannad better than the new one, probably because i got used to the first, i dont know whether ill like it more or less as the show progresses though. quote: spoiler[I think I saw flashes of them of what they'll become when they're a little older. Someone correct me on that!] i can't confirm those since the opening that i had seen is too grainy, i guess we'll have to wait for a better release to confirm it 
i think fuko might still be around, but only when she wants to appear, like after her arc on the first season time to go, can't wait for ep1

Well, considering that spoiler[Nagisa's death] is probably the single most important event of the after story it's pretty inevitable that it'll happen in the TV series. How KyoAni handles the aftershocks of said event will determine how the series differs from the movie. Knowing the events of the game and KyoAni's track record for their Key adaptations spoiler[expect a LOT of heartbreak before a satisfying ending.]

I really love the new OP and I just finished watched the Tomoyo episode from the first season, awesome stuff. I really hope we get to see a 3-5 episode OVA based on Tomoyo After.

Just seen the first episode to After Story. The episode brings all the major characters together spoiler[for a baseball game.] Kind of fun to watch, though the mood feels a little more melancholic and less carefree than the first season this time around. Considering that Tomoya and Nagisa spoiler[graduate in their school year] and that this season is supposed to feature spoiler[Nagisa dying from giving birth to her and Tomoya's child], the mood kind of feels right for this season.

um anyone posting about spoiler[nagisa's death] actually see the game this was based off of?
spoiler[her death] was not at any point the focal point of the after story plot. just one of MANY possible endings.spoiler[there was a happily ever after ending as best case scenario and at worst there was a scenario where all 3 died in the end] if they placed the ending that everyone fears they will they would really tick off a lot of fans. and realise of the big 3 they have done so far kanon, air and clannad (fate yet decided), spoiler[ air ended badly, but kanon worked out in the end for everyone. which one was by far more popular? kanon of course] |

Clannad - After Story, episode 1!!!
What a great way to reintroduce a lot of the characters spoiler[(except Fuko....bwahahaha)] in a baseball game (c'mon, it's not that spoilerish)! Quite a bit of funny moments as usual like: spoiler[ - The many pains Youhei Sunohara faced when Tomoya was recruiting members for the baseball team especially on trying to get Tomoyo, Yuusuke, and Misae. - Kotomi's extensive calculations on hitting the ball! - What the freakin' CRAP is with Yuusuke's monologues?!  
- And Youhei was the bane of their team. Most of the girls (well, except of Nagisa until the end) did very good in the game.] Thought I was curious about spoiler[that first scene in the episode. Was that Tomoya and his father when they were younger?] Ahhh, it great to relive those community related joys of this series!

That baseball game was ridiculous. It was fun to watch, sure, but seriously? A ragtag group of mostly students against athletes playing at a national level and starting the game off with a 4-0 lead, with some of the girls having NEVER played baseball before. At least most underdog stories at least have a silly training montage. And Mei getting on base at least twice was astounding. Especially since there's no indication that the other team was going easy on her.
I'm a little disappointed at the lack of Fuko in the opener, as that implies a lack of her in the series, but it's understandable. Besides, Kyou and Tomoyo are more entertaining anyway. |

New OP is very nice but I liked Megumeru better. The ED is okay on its own, but I think I'm going to dislike it in the end for the same reason I disliked Kanon's ED: too happy for when the dramatic stuff is going on. At least there was a bit of a delay before the music actually started, so hopefully that will be normal and it won't be as much of an issue. Actually, relistening to it, its also not nearly as upbeat as Kanon's was. ... It probably won't be an issue. Regardless, I liked Dango Daikazoku far more.
As for the episode itself, that was a fun way to start things off. Pretty much zero plot and drama, just a reminder of Tomoya's father issues and the characters having a fun time. Kyou + Buruma + Thighhighs = WIN. LOL Kotomi. She actually hit it, too. Tomoyo fails at trying to play baseball the girly way. Mei manages a hit too. Nagisa kind of sucks at baseball (not exactly a huge shocker), but she's managed to hit the ball too. Yoshino is.... amusing. Hell yes, CLANNAD IS BACK. |

About "Tomoyo After" that episode is very touching but i didn't cry on Tomoya and Tomoyo(When i say those two names i beginning to laugh. *Ryhmes). The episodes that i shed my MANLY tears are on episodes that Fuko says best wishes to her Onee-chan and the story of Kotomi's past life. Man that was...something. *sniff. Hey what is that i'm hearing about new episodes of Clannad.
. Japanese people always gets the good stuff. *sniff. I wish i was born a japanese boy. Clannad!Clannad!Clannad!
