I mean, the show ends up doing this on its own, so it's not just the dub.

My personal take has always been that Kumiko fell in love with a straight girl, and then slowly fell out of love. |

To me from the very beginning the show was never about "yuri" it just people wanted to be one.
With that being said I dont mind seeing Kyoto animation make original yuri romance show one day. |

I always thought the main point of the show was to let people unfamiliar with wind bands know what a euphonium is.
At least KyoAni would not resort to tricks such as angles that do not show faces during dialog so as to save on animation time and expense. |

Cannonically Kumiko end up with wet paper, so they had to constantly go ''Ahah the're just friend for real''. W/e I guess that's just kyoani and their deliberate imperfection. . |

It's the insane attention to detail that gets me. Like the infamous hilltop scene in episode 8, where if you look at the sky (around 18:40), you'll see the impending conjunction of Jupiter and Venus just as it would have looked over Kyoto around the time the episode aired.
And just like those planets over the following weeks, Kumiko and Reina appear to come so close together, but then go their separate ways. |

I am happy to hear that the dub matches the one for the sequel movie. Once season 3 is solicited on BD, I will order it and rebuy seasons 1 and 2.
