This is cool, and also at the same time, not surprising to me given his artwork and his unique take on horror genre.

I'm not surprised at this. Junji Ito nominated for an Eisner award. Just the nomination itself will probably be enough for this guy,but odds are,he'll also get the award. That ain't going to be too shabby for him,isn't it?

Given that his work is often seen as an example of what the comic medium can do, it makes a lot of sense. He deserves the praise.
