Not shocked, but yeah... I couldn't make it through season one. Glad its fans will get more at least.

It's far from a remarkable watch but I'm down to watch more of it.

Right like it’s not great but I find it enjoyable enough to watch another season to see how it ends

I don't know what they think about it in terms of reviews but more people have watched each episode every week since it aired than the latest One Piece episodes which is no small feat.
I think it's decent but no where the level of the original and has dragged on at times. That said I'm happy enough to carry on watching another season.

Doesn't matter if it's shite, it's a prime-time show, so it's going to have decent ratings...

It is number 3 on the ranking above, from ANN's news article.

Insert "disappointed but not surprised".

Looks like people outside Japan and Japanese fans are divided over Yashahime.

That seems weird. It seems like something every Inuyasha fan could ever want

Fans of Inu Yasha care about the characters of Inu Yasha. The Yashahime anime seemingly doesn't care about at least Inu Yasha and Kagome.
Don't know why there is this disparity, but it has happened before with other anime. That Yashahime is a more mainstream Japanese show, might mean that the audience is more Yashahime fans, rather than Inu Yasha fans. Which doesn't mean the Inu Yasha fans aren't watching, but many of them might be watching just to see how there characters end up.

I dunno if I can endure a second season.
Even if it was meant for newer fans of the series, it still didn't make any lick of sense in the long run.

Frankly, I've long been baffled about why this series is getting ragged on so much. While the characters focused on may be different, the series has, for me, had a similar enough feel and entertainment value to what Inuyasha was doing in the middle of its run. The only significant negative I can see, by comparison, is that Towa is just kinda there personality-wise.
The other major difference I can see is that this series, unlike the original, has no core romantic elements. It lacks some drama because of that, but that element also got soap opera-ish at times in the original so it's personal taste as to whether that counts as a positive or negative.
Anyway, while this show has not been a priority view for me for the last few weeks, I'll definitely be back for another season.

I should have expected this, given how high the ratings have been in Japan and the fact that there was no way to wrap up everything satisfyingly with today's episode. If this was planned as a 48-episode show from the start, it makes it easier to accept the amount of inconsequential stand-alone episodes in the first season, although some of them were really bad.

Either this or they plan to go full My Hero Academia and more seasons will happen in-between.
