Here's hoping the red jacket theme will make a return.

I guess hoping for it to be longer than 26 episodes was just wishful thinking.

This rap is not cool, but is good. But the way Long live to the Italian and Greek Openings! fudge Off this idea: Japanese Opening always wonderful.

There are many good italian openings (e.g. almost all the previous Lupin III op), but that's one of the worst I've ever heard...
Mediaset have chosen a(n unfortunately) popular rapper, Moreno (he won a popular talen show in Italy and teenage girls love him) 'cause they wanted to highlight the new Lupin series: these commercial choices have terrible consequences, and now we have such a shitty opening in the world premiere.

I'm glad that Italy is dubbing Lupin, but I don't know if I like this opening they have for the anime. The verses (the weird rapping before the chorus) wasn't very good and a bit messy and all over the place. The chorus is a bit better, but still slightly messy at times.
I have to keep an open mind though because Italy has had its fair share of hits and misses with openings just like anyone else, even Japan. Italy is usually WAY better with openings, just not this time. Here's hoping at least the Japanese version is better.

Here in Italy 90% of people who have heard this opening think that is horrible...
If you translate the lyrics in English you will notice that they have no sense...
I hope that the Japanese version and the other international versions will have a different opening...

Yeah, how about we don't have any Italian hip hop in the actual soundtrack? That would be just great. Besides that, I'm looking forward to the series.

This new Lupin III series and the upcoming Drifters are the main anime series I'm looking forward to watching. I'm very glad it will be 26 episodes since I thought it would have been only 12 or 13 episodes.
The Italian opening is not that bad, I liked the parts in the song that weren't rapping. I hope the Japanese opening is a Japanese song though.
I'm liking the new female character that will be in this series, and look forward to seeing her over the span of 26 episodes, unless her character dies or something.
Can't wait to watch this. It looks like it will be fun!

Italy used to be better with anime opening 30+ years ago. When real professional and talented song writers and singers were involved. And those opening lyrics were later sold on lps and cassettes. So they needed to be good.
Nowadays there is no market for the sale of anime openings, so you get bad lyrics and bad musical arrangements. Hence modern animes are always better viewed with the original japanese music.
This Lupin III opening sucks. It sucks sucks sucks like the old time translated american anime openings. That's the level of suckage we're talking of.

I really like the rap (and the country has a history of great re-adaptations of openings).
Italy is also only a 2 hours drive away from where i live but he internet will provided i assume.
This show is what i always wanted but rarely get. International anime and 2 whole season sounds great on top. I would be surprised if this one backfires and it would be nice to put a Lupin product into my top 5 for the year. The Woman Called Fujiko Mine got that honor in 2012 and the promise side-dish of seinen was very much present in the promotional material so far. The franchise really deserves this comeback after about 15 years or straight nonsense.

I just watched a few seconds of the trailer and I could tell right from the start that the singing is flat-out shameful!

That's sad. A good anime OP/ED/INS in Japan lives on in karaoke and live concerts such as Animelo Summer Live and Animax Musix (Animelo Summer Live has also been released on DVD since 2006 and later blu-ray, and Animax Musix concert highlights get broadcast).

If there's any consolation to this, the Italians aren't the only people whose anime shows have now become susceptible to being tarnished by poorly-made in-house songs...
