I've always thought that Bakuman would work well as live action. Now I'm glad to see that they are going that route. The leads look pretty perfect as well.

Can't wait to see it!

I love the their original work, the Anime and the dubbed Anime (Even though they never finished the dub), and now I know I'll fall in love with this live action version as well. I can't wait to watch.. Their story is so inspirational.. T ^ T

One thing American and Japanese movies always share: casting 30-year-olds to play high schoolers.

Animeking: They're actually in their 20s, but yeah, Satoh looks too old to play Mashiro.

To be fair, Takeru Satoh is only 25, and that's about how old the character is by the end of the manga.

I guess they'll change the story line to salary men trying to change career path into manga writers. Satoh looks too old to be a high schooler.

Japanese always cast younger guys/girls for those roles.
