He had such a recognizable voice id heard him in a lot of things id watched as a lad. He'll be missed.

His role as Phil Banks had a huge influence on my humor, and I'll never forget his strong and amazing acting during the most emotional moments. Just watched the first season with friends at my birthday a month ago. He will be missed by millions of people.

I knew he'd done some voice work, but I didn't realize it was that much. Very sad to hear the news of his passing, he was a great talent.

I was completely unaware that James Avery was also a voice actor in several American animated shows, in which one of them is an old anime.
RIP Mr. Avery.

It sad to hear, and it sad that's how the New Year start (no offense to anyone). James Avery was awesome as Uncle Phil in Fresh Prince and I know he did a lot of voice acting, including anime (which I was surprised to hear). He'll indeed be missed. RIP
