Hikaru Utada's Latest Track 'Electricity– Karen Nyame KG Remix' Out Now, WITH Official Visualizer on YouTube

TOKYO, JAPAN — Hikaru Utada's “Electricity,” originally appearing on their 2024 best-of album “SCIENCE FICTION,” has been a high point of their recent body of work. Performed as an encore throughout their eponymous tour last year, the track resonated deeply with audiences. The song's momentum continued with the release of an official music video in December, which has now surpassed 1.7 million views on YouTube.

Now, “Electricity” receives a bold new reinterpretation via a remix by London-based producer Karen Nyame KG, out now. Known for her signature blend of bass-driven rhythms and percussive energy, Karen Nyame KG infuses “Electricity” with a fresh, dynamic sound, adding new depth to Utada's original vision.

To celebrate the release, an official visualizer has also been unveiled on YouTube, adding a new way for fans to experience the remix.

To commemorate the release of Hikaru Utada's “Electricity (Karen Nyame KG Remix),” a pre-release party took place on February 14 at Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Osaka, drawing a sell-out crowd and delivering an unforgettable night at a historic site.

The event featured an exciting lineup, with Karen Nyame KG taking the stage alongside DJ YANATAKE and DJ POIPOI. Their electrifying performances kept the crowd pumped, building anticipation for the official release of the remix.

Karen Nyame KG, who took the stage at the event, shared the following comment:

Starting today, Feb. 14, the "HIKARU UTADA SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024 NINE STORIES" exhibition is now open at the same venue in Osaka.

A special lineup of exclusive merchandise reflecting the world of NINE STORIES is now available, including photo T-shirts and tote bags featuring works from various photographers, the NINE STORIES hoodie, a lenticular photo card set, and more. Pre-orders for all items begin today, Feb. 14, to coincide with the Osaka exhibition's opening. The official release and shipping scheduled for March 7, coinciding with the Tokyo exhibition's opening at New Gallery in Jinbocho.
