Yes, it's another dreaded recommendation thread. Anyways, I've decided to take a break from listening to metal and headbanging music for a bit and I'm looking for some songs that are slower and/or have a bit of a sad tone to them. Lately, I've really enjoyed some of Ketsumeishi's stuff and slower songs, like Silver Ash's Lunar Eclipse. If anyone can suggest me some songs along those lines, it would be much appreciated.

I'd suggest having a look at the "Music to sleep to" thread. That's got a lot of good recommendations for slower, more gentle songs

Have you heard Waltz by Suneohair? I don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for, but it's definitely, softer, slower, and more melodic, and also perfectly done throughout (chorus, verses, etc.). I think it's one of the best anime OP/EDs ever done. Check it out sometime.

'Colors' by Utada Hikaru (the acoustic version) is a good song. It's got a slow pace and definitely has that melancholy sound to it.

Also, i don't know if they have this in the Music to Sleep to thread but definetly check out Waltz For Zizi from Cowboy Bebop, and Sound Life and Rakuen (Paradise) also known as "Wolfwood" both from Trigun. Hope that helps a little.
