ok I’m sorry if this has ever been done before i just want to know what peoples thoughts were, and I’d rather not post on a 3 year old topic that has more cyber dust on it than my TV. ok that made no sense but yea back to the topic.

What music do u think is best fitting to a particular scene in anime. it can be a very odd piece of music that u thought maybe wouldn't go well. but when u heard it thought quite differently and maybe enjoyed it.

it can be music that means something to you on a personal level. music that is for some reason most remember able which therefore makes the scene more remember able.

it can be music that maybe you've downloaded and you find reminds you of that scene. maybe the music you are listening to isn’t even in anime at all!!! if you think its a great piece of music and think u know the best scene to put it in. then tell us???

ok so here’s my favourite which i might have already mentioned in another topic. mine is the song Elm composer Yoko Kano. the scene is in cowboy bebop where spoiler[Jet is flying across a river trying to catch his ex girlfriend.] i just think its such an odd piece of music, but when you hear it and see what’s going on in the scene u cant help but be amazed. i think its truly an amazing piece of music and a great scene. goes well together you might say.

im going to chose a second piece of music because they are both my favourites in similar ways i suppose (feel free to post as many songs as u like). the other piece of music is from the Eva film "end of evangelion". it's titled Shinji i Cello that’s all i have managed to get. but it also appears on the DVD’s menu and in the film itself. the scene it is in is where the 3 children are playing the orchestra music. its just simple a beautiful piece of music and is my fav.

so once again the question is what music do you find most fitting with a particular scene

and feel free to comment on anything i have mentioned or said.

thank you Very Happy

Well, the song that Quon sings in RahXephon ("Maladdie Du Sommeil") seems to fit perfectly with whenever it is played.

Also, and I know I'll prolly be shot for this; I love the pocketwatch theme from Noir ("Melodie"). Its just so simple, yet it gets into you and under your skin.

The song "Turn Back Time" goes so well with that neon genesis scene towards the end of the movie.

Also, a lot of the music in FLCL goes great with whats happening. Gotta love The Pillows.

"Green Bird" by Yoko Kanno, in the glass window church scene in cowboy bebop: Ballad of fallen angels. The song is in latin and works perfectly for a church.

The whole "Amethyst Remembrence" sequence from Yami no Matsuei always gives me the chills. The song is pretty and haunting. The scene starts out plesantly enough, but quickly gets creepy when Muraki shows up and spoiler[kidnaps Hisoka]. The music and the imagery make it a very beautiful yet creepy scene. ::shiver::

Even though this isn't Japanese music, the following songs fit GITS:

E Nomine--Schwarze Sonne
Manga--Bitti Rüya
Rammstein--Feuer Frei!, Mann Gegen Mann

I totally agree; that's one of my favorite scenes! I wasn't sure if it was really Latin though, 'cause I thought I read something about how YK made the words up. Not sure though...

Another scene where the music worked really well was in Samurai Champloo when Mugen spoiler[has his brush with death (and those weird crow guys).] It's a very traditional sounding Japanese song, with that old-style kinda nasal yodel-thing, but it really fits the mood (and it grows on you after a while). I don't remember the singer's name, but I read that she's from Okinawa. The song is really haunting and evocative, and it makes me remember that scene every time I hear it.
