And they conveniently forgot to mention their failure to license the game's original Japanese voices, leaving it literally speechless.

STFU, Let people make the decision to decide whether voices are needed in the Koihime Musou. Besides we need a lot of people to buy games from Manga Gamer to save the Visual Novel Industry in the English speaking world.

Oh be quiet, since when were voices necessary in visual novels? If people wanna get an idea of what it sounds like, they can check out the anime and develop a 'voice' from that. ANN doesn't need people like you giving MangaGamer unnecessary bullshit. If you wanna do that, go over and join the many anonymous posters on SanCom, they thrive on negativity over there. |

It would be nice if people who whine about this issue would actually do some research: http://mangagamer.wordpress.com/2010/09/08/an-unfortunate-announcement-with-hope/#more-670
1. They have mentioned this right on their website. They're not secretly removing the voices. 2. This isn't MangaGamer's fault. Nexton is funding the localization and they've refused to dish out the money for the voice overs, so blame them. 3. If this game actually makes some money they've said they'll licence the voices and give them to consumers via a patch, which is certainly more diplomatic than they have to be about this. Especially because they're basically vowing to potentially pay for the voices months after it releases even though a fan-patch for the voices will probably be out within 2 weeks of the release, meaning they're willing to throw money down the toilet just to please a few fans. |

Some nice Anon at /jp/ has created a voice patch for the Trial Version. Anon who created the patch estimates that it will take him few hours to patch the complete game when it's out. Lack of voices just became a non-issue when considering purchase. |

Wow, that quickly. I knew that someone would release an unofficial patch for it, but I didn't think they could do it that quickly.
The fact is though, is that this is a bad move by nexton. There is very tiny market here for VNs and many who do play them will look for any excuse possible to justify piracy. Nexton just handed them an easy one. I'll buy regardless though. I just hope they can actually release it when they say they will this time, considering this announcement. animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2010-01-19/mangagamer.com-acquires-the-rights-to-koihime-musou |

There's still an incentive to buy the game. Whether or not we get a localization for Shin Koihime Musou rests on whether or not this game does well. |
