It was earlier today while viewing the trailer that I literally thought, "I wish this were a series, instead of a film".

A little off topic but can we get a remake of Irresponsible Captain Tylor instead.

so epic. as great as the original series is it's a definitely damaged by age in some aspects (Not the story of course!) so seeing it remade in HD and modern animation will be amazing

Sorry to all the people who may like the latter materials, but Yamato really should have ended with Farewell to the Space Battleship Yamato.

I would have been fine with that, but I thought that at it should end at Final.

Anyway, since this is a remake, I guess I can let it slide, since it's not another sequel.

Let me guess . . .

This will be known in America as STAR BLAZERS 2199?

They've been doing it for a while now with Cobra, Go Nagai stuff, Golgo 13, multiple times with Tezuka stuff, etc.

Yeah. I'm not against a remake, but it looks pretty bad. Berserk and the new HxH suffer from similar issues. Well, I guess the industry is just in a slump right now so cheap rehashes it is.

You didn't happen to make that wish at exactly 11:11:11, did you?

Looks like we're gettin' a new Star Blazers series soon! (I wonder if the US port of it would be called Star Blazers...)

That's why I phrased catching up, but no issues with your point. Smile

I own the three Starblazers boxes, but I totally welcome the new series.

Yay! No more bowdlerization, probably skewing the script to a somewhat older demographic as well. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

I'm pleased with this news, at least for now.
