I hope that the unnamed CLAMP member is doing well.

This makes me wonder, logically, how far back from the Japanese releases the Del Rey titles will be.

At least it sounds like she will be alright, and the damage is nothing permanent. It would be a shame for such wonderful tallent to be ended.
As far as the push back for Del-Rey, I do not think it should cause a problem. Last time I went to Japan, last June, I bought the first 5 volumes of Tsubasa, and Del-Rey has yet to catch up to that. So, if there is a delay, it is because the publisher is being a jerk.

I'm willing to bet it was Mokona Apapa. If Mick Nekoi had this issue, I'm pretty sure they could make up for it...

I don't know about XXXHolic, but I'm pretty sure that Satsuki Igarashi is the main artist for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, since the art style more closely resembles Angelic Layer and Chobits than it does CCS. At least of what I saw of it.

The main artist of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and XXX Holic is Tsubaki Nekoi, not Satsuki Igarashi. ^^

Didn't they use the same excuse when they stopped working on some other manga of theirs? I'm not saying they're lying or anything, but I first heard this "hand problems" thing at least a year ago and definitely not in connection with XXXholic and Tsubasa.

Did it ever occur to you that it might be an ongoing problem?

The rumours that I heard a few months back we're that Mokona was suffering from Arthritis and was finding it harder to draw. This is also the reason why apparently the newer installments of X have been drawn by Tsubaki Nekoi aswell. At least she's feeling better now and can hopefully get back to her drawing

What "newer installments" of X? It hasn't come out with a new volume for almost 2 and a half years... (since Sept. of 2002.)
Coincidentally, that's why I'm angry at CLAMP. They left off in the middle of X to write some things which are not as compelling to me (I like xxxHolic, but I find Tsubasa less than interesting) and I really don't understand how their contract, never mind their fans, have let them do this.

It is their manga, so they can quit a title whenever they want. At this point, I'm sure they've earned the right.
I noticed that xxxHolic won't get another release in the US until May with Tsubasa getting on in April. They had been being released within a week of each other. I wonder if Del Rey is slowing down publication so as not to completely catch up with the Japanese releases (I understand they are only a year behind Japan and not 5-6 years like Dark Horse is with Ah! My Goddess).

I've also heard that Makona Apapa is suffering from arthritis...I hope she won't have to quit drawing. As for X, I think part of the reason Clamp stopped making it was because there wasn't anymore incentive for it. The movie had already ended, the tv series had already ended, the fans had already seen the "ending" twice and moved on to different things. It's sad, but I can understand that if Makona is having health problems, X's art was of the upmost calibur, and she might not be able to draw like that anymore. :(

X's brilliance was more in the shading and the symbolism than in the artwork itself... (if that made any sense ;;. I'm going to die if they don't finish it...
