Rumors have been flying around for a time that will happen in April, but rumors are rumors, and are 25% of becoming true.

*L* I would/won't say that. I do like YY H alittle more then DBZ, but a very fine line.

Give them a break, dude. YYH is a 100 + episode series. You can't expect them to dub it all at once like they do for short series like Alexandar.

It'd be nice... But it's just not that easy. There are people who have to go to the office and work full 40 hour weeks to make this stuff, you know.

the show's been around for years, i would've thought most of it was already dubbed, or did it just now gain popularity.

They're probably focusing on getting the last season of DBZ as well as DBGT on the air first.

I know they've got the first 11 episodes of the 2nd season (Dark Tournament) dubbed since I have them uncut on DVD and the next 2 DVD's (anywhere from 6-8 more episodes) come out in a couple of weeks(not sure when). So, CN is probably just waiting until they get the rest of the season dubbed before they start airing, which shouldn't be too much longer. That way they avoid the same kind of dub lag that Inuyasha is experiencing, i.e. having 52 eps licensed and started airing them before all were dubbed and then had to reset/temporarily hold the series until they catch up after only airing about 32 (not sure exactly where they stopped). So, it's quite possible we might start seeing more YYH come April or May. But also remember that when they started showing it, it was only coming on once a week, and is now/will be showing 4 times a week, meaning more eps need to be dubbed before airing to allow for the dub lag (ex. dubbing 22 out of 26 eps to start and allow another month to get the final 4 done to air on time). Sorry for the mini rant with little useful info, but hope it helps.

Edit: Also almost forgot to add. Remember that the same people who brought us DBZ is also bring us YYH, FUNimation.

They only started dubbing the TV series a year or so ago, and even though they're a pretty small company they've got at least two or three other dubbing going on right now besides YYH.

Give them some credit. At least now they're giving us accurate translations and they're working hard to give us more to watch than just DBZ.

It's definitely coming back, or else CN wouldn't have put it in a prime afternoon timeslot along with DBZ. We've just gotta be patient and let FUNi do the dubbing, seeing how they're also working on DBGT and others like Fruits Basket at the same time trying to get them all out for the fans.

Perhaps CN are waiting until the episodes are released on DVd first in case showing it on TV hurts sales.

historically the opposite is considered true... by putting the show on TV you produce a MUCH larger market for it than you would if you just released directly to video.

Would DBZ have been the runaway success it is if it weren't for airing on TV? Likewise, would anyone have even noticed Pokemon if it weren't for the broadcast?

YYH is another 'unknown' title that certainly benefits from airing on TV first, with increased DVD sales after the broadcast.

The reason for their delay in broadcasting is probably unrelated to the DVD sales...

... OTOH, don't I recall FUNi doing the same thing with DBZ? They'd begin to release the "next season" DVDs a few months before the TV run would begin. It might be a new approach to the traditional "TV then Video" market strategy. Regardless, it seems to be working well enough for them.

Also, y'all need to realize that this is the land of Television, where marketing and promotion and release dates all play a vital role in a show's success. Hell, CN might have enough Hakusho to last them a few months, but eh, they might be holding off on it in order to properly position it in a date and time where they know it'll be a ratings champ.

I think this is a great marketing stratagy. You broadcast the series first and create a market for it. Then you sell the DVDs, and since anime series are almost like the old cliffhanger reels, we the consumers are compelled to get the next part of the story how ever we can.

....Even through piracy in some cases, I bet. Which would be the other edge of the sword in this scenario, and another good reason to release the videos first.

Not to say that video before TV is necessarily better... It just has its own share of cons.
