Medaka Box Anime's 1st Character Promo Video Streamed

The Medaka Box television anime adaptation's 15-second Medaka Kurokami character video began streaming on Tuesday. The promotional video highlights Aki Toyosaki's role as the title character and features the opening theme song "Happy Crazy Box" performed by Minami Kuribayashi.
Gainax is producing the adaptation while Shouji Saeki (Mahoromatic: Summer Special, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, He Is My Master) is directing and editing the series scripts and Ikuo Kuwana (Street Fighter Alpha: Generations) is designing the characters. Toyosaki will perform the ending theme song "Ohanabatake ni Tsuretette" as Medaka. NisiOisin and Akira Akatsuki launched the origianl manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2009, and Shueisha released the 14th compiled book volume on Friday.
The story follows Medaka, the strongest girl in Hanokiwa Academy, leads the school's student council. The student body can submit pleas for help, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, into the suggestion box that Medaka installed. Together with council members Zenkichi, Akune, Kikaijima, she takes on the challenges in the school that include supernatural powers and near-constant battles.
The anime will premiere in Japan on April 4.
