Madoka Magica & .hack's Kajiura Scores Sword Art Online
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Yuki Kajiura, composer for such anime as Noir, .hack, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and most recently Fate/Zero, is providing the music for this summer's Sword Art Online TV anime. The official website for the anime updated its staff list on Saturday to make the announcement.
Sword Art Online is based on Reki Kawahara's light novel series. The story revolves around a genius programmer named Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya who enters a virtual-reality, massively multi-player online (MMO) world called "Sword Art Online." There is no escape from this world unless the player clears the game, but "game over" means the death of the player.
Kajiura gained attention with her work on the spy drama Noir in 2001. She has worked with Chiaki Ishikawa as part of the group See-Saw and on her own solo project FictionJunction. The group Kalafina was founded in 2007 by Kajiura after holding female vocalist auditions.
