Inazuma Eleven Manga to End in Japan

The October issue of Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic will publish the final chapter of Tenya Yabuno's Inazuma Eleven soccer manga on September 15.
The Inazuma Eleven manga began serialization in Monthly CoroCoro Comic in May 2008. It won the Best Children's Manga award at the 34th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010. Shogakukan released the ninth volume of the manga in June.
The manga adapts the Inazuma Eleven soccer role-playing game franchise from LEVEL-5 Inc. (Gundam AGE, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, Rogue Galaxy, Professor Layton and the Curious Village). The game franchise also inspired the 2008 Inazuma Eleven television anime series, and a 2011 sequel, Inazuma Eleven GO, which is set one decade after the first Inazuma Eleven storyline.
The franchise also inspired a 2010 Inazuma Eleven: Saikyō Gundan Ogre Shūrai anime film, and a second anime film, Inazuma Eleven GO: Kyūkyoku no Kizuna Griffon, will open in Japan on December 23. A Nintendo 3DS game will also ship this winter.
