The Japanese publisher Kodansha has announced the results of its 34th Annual Manga Awards on Tuesday.

The winners will be honored in a ceremony on June 21 at the Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward. Each winner will receive a certificate, a bronze statue, and 1 million yen (about US$10,000). Miwa Ueda (Peach Girl), Shūichi Shigeno (Initial D), Daisuke Terasawa (Mister Ajikko), Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Akagi), Yukari Fukumoto, Akemi Matsunae (Renai Naika 25 Ji) and George Morikawa (Hajime no Ippo) formed the seven-member judging committee. Meitantei Yumemizu Kiyoshirō Jiken Note, Q.E.D., Fairy Tail, Kiyoku Yawaku, Ah My Goddess, and Ashita no Joe's Tetsuya Chiba won last year's awards.
