Final Fantasy XIII-2 PS3 & 360 RPG Sequel Announced
posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese game developer Square Enix announced during its 1st Production Department Premiere event on Tuesday that it aims to release Final Fantasy XIII-2, a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sequel to its Final Fantasy XIII role-playing game, this year. It also confirmed that the PSP role-playing game previously known as "Final Fantasy Agito XIII" will ship on two UMD discs this summer under the title Final Fantasy Type-0.
Square Enix finalized the title for another tentatively named role-playing game, Kingdom Hearts 3D for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS console — the "3D" is now pronounced "Dream Drop Distance." Finally, Square Enx released Dissidia duodecim prologus Final Fantasy, an early release version of its Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy action game, in the online PlayStation Store for 300 yen (about US$3.60) on Tuesday. The actual Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy game itself will ship for the Japanese PSP on March 3.
The 1st Production Department is the development team responsible for Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts franchise and Dissidia Final Fantasy franchise.
