Cute characters and neat castings. Summer's going to be fun this year. Calling it now.

Funny thing. Madhouse gave Atsuko Ishizuka two series in row this year.

It's MORE than that, man! Have you seen a Yosakoi dance before? It's pretty damn catchy!

I hope Madhouse get their good animators on that one; it would be a shame if they cheap out on that very aspect.

I'm really interested in this one.
Promising cast and the staff is really good.

I'm very curious about whether this is a yuri series or not, since spoiler[it's listed as shoujo-ai and yuri on Baka-Updates.]
I mean, seriously:
Quote:
She embarks on a path to an unordinary world called "Yosakoi" dance, guided by an exotic fairylike girl she met one moonlit evening.

The manga is licensed in France however, and a French guy on Twitter back when the anime adaption was announced said that it's more subtext than actual text. But with the trend of recent Manga Time Kirara series (2011-2014), subtext is a common theme.
I guess we'll have to wait, either for future manga volumes or for the anime, and see.

That might have been me, and yeah having now read the first two manga volumes, my opinion still hasn't changed. It's cute as hell, and the girls all like each other for sure, but more in a Kinmoza or LoveLive kind of way. Of the 5 girls presented in the article, I think Yaya might have some serious feelings for Naru, but honestly I think that's it.
I will say this though, as much as I love yuri, I do tend to wear my yuri-goggles looser than most. Wink

Now reading about this made me realize I still need to buy volume 3... I need to fix that asap.

EDIT: Okay so I just reread both volumes with my yuri-goggles on tighter, and yeah there's definitely some Class-S action going on in the first volume (Naru towards Hana, and Yaya towards Naru). I don't know if it'll go anywhere beyond that, but there are at least some hints of romantic feelings involved in vol.1.

Ishizuka Atsuko is great with relationships between characters, and Yoshida Reiko is EXCELLENT with relationships between characters, so I'm definitely going to expect a lot of heavy Class-S and subtext.

Awesome, I'm extremely glad to read that! I did enjoy Sakurasou quite a bit, and now I guess I have a very good reason to pay attention to No Game No Life this season. And Reiko Yoshida does seem like a perfect fit for this... Man I'm trying really hard to keep my expectations in check, but there's soooo much potential there. At least now we know we're just a few months away!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some reading to do. Very Happy
