Why aren't Akio Otsuka, Atsuko Tanaka, Toru Okawa, Koichi Yamadera and so on in this? They've been in all the incarnations of these characters(well since Saito is SAC exclusive), so having new guys, regardless of the time difference is jarring and annoying. This is even worse when Ocean took over dubbing of the SAC OVAs, because Bandai Entertainment was too cheap to hire the SAC cast. Hope they have a re-dub, where said voice actors above are back.
This also makes me shudder for the bilingual release.

Agreed, I really want the SAC dub cast back so bad. I love that cast so much, they work so well.

Looking good, the first one was good and on par with the series. Now if they could only produce a villain as iconic as the Laughing Man, so long as they keep trying to bend my mind, I'm in. Anime that tries to make you think is so rare nowadays.

While I wouldn't mind having the rest of the original cast back, I do think Mary McGlynn, as much as I love her, should be replaced for Lil' Motoko. Her deep, sultry voice just wouldn't work with Motoko's new younger look. If FUNI is forced to dub it in-house, then perhaps Alexis Tipton or Jamie Marchi could pull off a teenaged Major voice. R. Bruce Eliot could do a decent Aramaki, and I've heard Ian Sinclair in a few recent roles that make him sound REALLY close to a Crispin Freeman style of acting for Togusa.
But Batou should STAY as Richard Epcar. That man will play that role into his grave.

I'm curious, too, to see what Funimation does with the English dub of Ghost Pain (and the other episodes, assuming they get the licences for them). Original SAC VAs? Mix of original VAs, plus new? All new? Personally, I'd like to see all the original SAC English VAs back, including Mary E. McGlynn if she can do a younger Motoko. I haven't seen Ghost Pain yet, so I'm not sure what back story is presented, but I've always thought of Motoko as just a shell body-wise anyway, so if the voice for her changes with the "younger" shell, then that's fine with me too.
Been debating whether to hold off on watching the disc that came with the Funi Japanese import version until Funi releases the English dub version, or to just go ahead and watch the sub-titled version. I usually prefer watching the English dub version for the first viewing experience, as it allows for more enjoyment in viewing the artwork on the screen. However, I do remember my first viewing of Innocence was in the theatre sub-titled. Guess it depends on how long it will be until the general English dubbed version is released and how long I can hold out.
