It's the first season in 2 decades of Yu gi oh fan that won't make me sad after the last episode, the similar Sevens worked well enough but i hope the next one will return to a more serious adventure.

Maybe it's time for a remake of original series, or Duel Monsters...

This is the furthest an English dub for a Yu-Gi-Oh! show has been.

It's a frustrating situation with this, because it's kinda clear watching it, that the Rush shows are kind of supposed to be a parody. Yes, they're aging things down a bit to grab the Yokai Watch audience the way that Digimon has with its newer show (that western audiences still have not gotten access to yeah?), but when the villain is a literal massage chair or the villain of the week has a very very weird/ridiculous deck archetype, I can only interpret that form of goofiness as the Yugioh writers having fun & making fun of such a long-running media juggernaut.

There are moments it makes me legitimately giggle at it, but I also really want to see them return to something that is similar in seriousness to 5DS.

As interesting as some of the Master Duel stories and animated shorts have been as of late? I really think they need to bring Yugi and Kaiba back and Isekai them. Put the original cast of characters in a living tabletop RPG-styled world where Blue Eyes and Dark Magician are real and not just holograms, and explore the worlds and stories of the card sets themselves. I think if they could pull that off well, then you'd have a really great way to grab old or lapsed fans with the nostalgic cast, but then have a medium for being able to present them with new and fantastical adventures, not dissimilar to that newer Dragonball anime.

Feels strange to have a Yugioh ending while we have no idea about a proper successor on TV

Yu-Gi-Oh has prospered fine without Yugi and Kaiba for over 20 years. It's not a franchise that is enslaved to it's original protagonist like Pokemon was for the longest time until recently. And Super and Daima were incredibly mediocre so I don't think we should subject other franchises to zombie revivals. We technically already got that with the American exclusive Capsule World spin-off series.

Why did Konami just stop streaming subbed versions of Yu-Gi-Oh on Crunchyroll after Sevens?
