If she was 76, then it means that she was actually born in 1947. Am I right?

Um, the math isn't mathing, she passed at 76 years old. Shouldn't her year of birth be 1947?

Looks like Jodie Starling will get a new voice following her passing, just like Kiyoyuki Yanada who was the former voice of Andre Camel who passed anway last year and Iemasa Kayumi the former voice of James Black who also passed away almost 10 years ago.

Not necessarily. There exists a different Buddhist way of calculating the age of death that can cause a discrepancy of up to two years. It's called Kyōnen (享年), and I don't really understand how it works at all. I think it may have something to do with how many years you existed in. |

I’d only saw Cowboy Bebop all the way through for the first time this past summer. While Annie wasn’t necessarily a major player, being only in two episodes, Ichijo-san still sold her as Spike’s old downtown ally really cool. A shame she left us already. Rest in peace...

I read a news about how South Korea counts age and how they were changing it. IIRC when person is born they are one-year old, then gain another year on every New Year, so someone born on 12/31 becomes two-year old on 1/1. Still, this is a western publication, ANN should use western convention, or at least explain the discrepancy. |
