New... Cobra?

*falls ded*

The only thing that would be better is if they announced Dezaki was doing it again. Very Happy

Totally, totally, awesome!

Now who will be licensing this for us in America? Laughing

Hopefully, If they do decide to liscense it here, does anyone think they might bring the original series out? Or is it to old for that no matter how good it is? Surprised

I wished someone would bring over the original series.

One of mine personal favorites.

Cool, loved what I've seen of the original series, hope it gets licensed in R1., and if Dezaki gets on the wagon, it will be totally awesome!

Great news. Will it be as un-PC as the original I wonder?

Having seen the original feature-length animation years ago, I wonder how much of the reason that it sticks in my head is that one of the key animators was a guy called Hayao Miyazaki?

If it's anything like the original, this will be a great series.

Osamu Dezaki's been a busy man lately, helming The Snow Queen, the Air movie, and now a revival of Cobra the Space Pirate. I suppose that if it is good enough, perhaps more people will be able to see his rather unique take of the melodramatics. I've never seen any of Cobra's other incarnations, but I'll definently keep an eye out for them.

Osamu Dezaki did a great job with the early 80s Anime series. Its one of my personal favorite Animes of all time. Great script, action, and storyline.

I'll be waiting for this on DVD (series and remake) in the US.

I hope the fact that both of them are remakes gives them a chance of getting picked up, since ImaginAsian hasn't announced the release of the originals...

Awesome news, I love the old show. I hope they can get the old voice cast back (Nachi Nozawa fit Cobra to a tee, can't imagine anyone else).
