GO FOR THE GOLD IN THE BEIJING OLYMPICS!
... I mean, Adult Swim airing... And yes, I'm never going to get tired of that. That said: no Monster anime? FAIL. |

Here's the thing though: At this point, I don't care WHO licenses it... I just want the damn show to come over already. BUT, as time passes, it's getting less likely, so I'm beginning to lose hope. Also, Geneon would be nice, but they did take it up the ass for Keaton (okay, that's too harsh... so let's just say that it sold "below expectations")... so the people down below (who actually really like Monster) can't really convince the people high up to get it. Which reminds me, if people wanted to improve Monster's chances, they should've picked up Keaton during Geneon's TRSI sale... But, the weekend is young... let's wait... I just want to see Death Note on Adult Swim. I would also like to see Claymore on U.S. tv, or as I call it, Berserk light.

Didn't anyone ask about the (much higher) possibility of Death Note airing in Canada?

What? No Claymore announcement? Rats ... here's hoping FUNimation got it then. Too make matters worse, no Monster or Ouran High School Host Club either? Somebody license them already!
So I take it you'd still be happy even if Bandai Visual licensed it? |

MONSTER is a grade A++ masterpiece and is still number 1 on my all time favorite anime list. I just cannot believe that this series has yet to be licensed. I mean seriously monster itself can appeal to the fans of law and order, CSI, etc. very easily if whoever licenses it can market it just right and manage to either get in on A&E, HBO, Showtime, or on some primetime venue and that company will have a pretty nice cash cow as a result. Sorry about the rant its just that after each con with no license announcement just really P****** me off to no end .
Anyway, Deathnote would be a nice fit for adult swim and I also hope that Claymore will be given the chance to be shown on Adult swim since they said a while back that they would like to show Berserk but would end up censoring it heavily. Which should NOT be the case with claymore since its toned down in comparison to berserk. |

GOD and HEAVEN forbid that from ever happening and not to mention that Bandai Visual would lose a ton of money since no one will buy their OVERPRICED dvds and knowng them they would probably wind up charging about $184.00(approx 22,680 yen) for 360 minutes worth of footage since japan sold the series in 5 box sets, just search amazon japan and you will see what I mean. |

Actually it's dated to 1994, based on its Japanese publication. It didn't hit Pulp until about five years later. |

EDIT: *Found the old news posting, must've missed it originally* the manga's encyclopedia page still lists Tokyopop for the rights, and no news link in relation to Yen Press getting it. Last edited by Invader_Spooch on Fri Jun 29, 2007 9:47 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I don't know why the ANN report didn't mention it, but the first Bleach set is coming out in October as well. The runtime is a bit odd though.

Well, shaved down to what sounds about 18-22 episodes (depending on how long each episode ends up being).
Either way, that's not too bad, all things considered. I hope they release the artwork soon. |
