A live-action Negima's already been done. It's called Harry Potter. Anyway, I'm just wondering how they're gonna get away with all the loli jokes on primetime Japanese tv.

Hush.
The same way they always do- not making an issue out of it. |

I totally misread that as "all-female cast" at first. I was thinking, "Wait, don't they at least need to cast Negi?"

I'm actually pretty excited about this. It'll be interesting how they do this. I'm sure it'll be devoid of Akamatsu's fanservice and focus on a specific arc from the manga. Or make up their own. Whatever. I want to watch. I'll probably enjoy it.

Casting 31 Japanese girls is the easy part. What's going to be hard is finding a 10 year-old Welsh kid whose fluent in Japanese!

Yeah, cause Harry Potter is totally a harem comedy. |

After this promptly fails, I want it made an official rule that it's impossible to adapt this manga.

Well the large cast does leave little room in the budget for everything else |

Perhaps this should be listed as one of the 100 some odd rules of anime. But generally speaking I honestly think that almost any manga can have a good adaptation and I personally think that negima can have a proper adaptation but it would need a lot of input from akamatsu more along the lines of him being the director if that ever happens. |

"He also discusses the overwhelming experience of casting 31 "3D" girls for the story's all-female class."
why does this sound so dirty? i mean it's just sound so wrong to look for 31 middle-school girls for the case plus few others.... |

Couldn't they just cast most of AKB48?

in live action, i don't see how this could look like anything other than a Harry Potter ripoff. they should get Abingdon Boys School to do the opening.

There is a young male wizard as the star. clearly its a Harry Potter rip-off.
Anyhow, I wouldn't expect a faithful adaptation with this but I'd at least like to see an episode to see what they do. |

Steven:
Yeah, but this is live-action, and they might have different standards for that. Look at how they sanitized that version of Sailor Moon. Dorcas:
Radcliffe's macking on Katie Leung would lead you to believe it's heading in that direction. |

you simply have to look at the character design to see how this could go all sorts of wrong. granted the person will be japanese, but still... |
