Sounds like an interesting read. The problem with it, is that it can be easily turned into a comedy of errors.

It does sound like an interesting read. I think I might read the updated version of her other book while I wait for this new one to be published. The updated version is titled "Anime from Akira to Howl's Moving Castle ..." (instead of Princess Mononoke).

I'm looking very forward to this book, but too bad it won't come out until November. My dissertation on anime fans and Japanese cultural pedagogy will probably be done or nearly done by then, so I won't be able to use it. =P

See, in my case that'll be a good thing about being slow on the dissertation (I'm still in the prospectus stage) -- I'll be able to read and respond to her book when I get around to doing my research.

Grrr. Napier's evening presentation was actually scheduled for *six* p.m.

The flyers plastered by elevators of the East Asian Studies dept. indicated so. That, and my arriving at 6:30 p.m. *sharp* to find that I missed half the presentation clued me in.
