I really want to get a little excited about this but it's been too long for me to get hyped at all. Plus, the MC is so OP it's hard to really get excited about anything when you know he'll just own it.
I do like that Konomi Kohara seems to have a big role in it. Absolutely love her and I hope she becomes a voice we hear all the time.

No showings in NC. Guess I won't be seeing this one. Little disappointed, but not necessarily because I really want to see it (I do love the MC because of his OPness...), but more because I won't be able to show my support for anime movies being brought over to the US. Kinda sad.

This will be a controversial release, as this is controversial series (by Western standards), since the lead couple are siblings. That'st the reason I avoid this series.

No listings in Chicago either. So I'm out as well.

While I'd prefer to get some Canadian showings Google Maps says the Michigan theater is only 45 minutes away so maybe I'll go to that.

The closest to me is in Winchester VA. That requires three full hours of Interstate driving. I guess I will not be seeing this in the theater.

This movie is not gonna go over well. Unless you are up to date with the novels, I assume you wont know whats going on. Same as the Accel World movie.

If it assumes that you've read all of the novels rather than simply taking place during or shortly after what they adapted, that doesn't seem like it bodes well for them actually adapting the rest of it.
Fortunately, we are getting the novels in English officially, which is great, but Yen Press hasn't caught up with the end of the anime yet, let alone anywhere near where they are in Japan. So, if the movie spoils those who have only seen the anime, those getting the story from official, English-speaking releases won't be able to avoid being spoiled if they watch the movie at this point, even if they're reading the novels from Yen Press.

This may be limited to me, but I don't think an anime can spoil the experience of reading the source novel. Look at it this way, the anime technically spoiled all of the novels released to date. However, reading them was still rather rewarding and provided a lot of details and insight omitted or glossed over in the anime.
In Japan, the normal approach would be to read the source material first and follow up with the anime. Here, most novels don't get licensed until the anime provides a fan following for them. I find it fun to read the novel and then go back and re-watch the portion of the anime based on that novel. It is amazing the things I pick up on that I missed on the first watch.
I do look forward to the novels here going beyond the anime, only because I want to know what happens next. As long as the principal characters are alive there is more story to read.
