Are there any particular titles you decide to watch when you've had a rough day, or when you feel sort of down-in-the-dumps?

Right now I have a few titles that I usually hold on to for stress relief. Hidamari Sketch is a fansub title that I have been using to lighten to mood a lot. I love rewatching random episodes of that series, especially since they are so laid back and funny.

I also tend to watch Kamichu! and the shoujo goodness that is Kamichama Karin, both excellent mood lightners.

I would really have to say Fooly Cooly. It brings me back to a time when all was right with my personal world. It lets me relive that feeling of loving something that's animated so much that it's almost unnatural. I find myself watching all six episodes every month or so.

As far as Anime goes, Fooly Cooly is really the only stress reducer for me. Manga relaxes me more than watching Anime.

I think a lot of slice of life shows make great stress relievers, at least the ones that I like.

For example, Aria, this show has such a soothing and absorbing atmosphere and such an optimistic view of the world, it's hard to be grumpy after watching it. Great music too.

For a non slice-of-life show, I often find myself watching GTO, though this is more of a stress-reliever/inspirational. Also because it's frequently hilarious.

Cheerful comedies are what cheer me up, so I tend to go with Azumanga Daioh! if I'm feeling down. Or I'll read some of the early Bleach manga, Kubo Tite's quirky humor always brings a smile to my face.

I'm quite the opposite. When I'm stressed, I watch series like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Infinite Ryvius, and Planetes. Apparently ,watching fictional characters suffer worse than me helps me relax. Razz Either that, or I can relate to the characters when they're stressed out. I don't know which one.

Hey, I was gonna say that. Though it's definitely not for everybody.

Lucky Star is great for relieving stress; Konata is just so silly. I could be bashing my head on the wall, seeing Konata wonder how to properly eat a chocolate cornet is hilarious. Anime smile

I'd say, for me, it's To Heart. It's such a quiet, enjoyable series that doesn't require me to get angsty. I can just sit back and smile as Hiroyuki, Akari, Shiho and the rest go through their lives. I love the gentle atmosphere of the series. It makes me wish my highschool life could have been even remotely similar.

Slayers does the depression lift for me. There are certain episodes in each of the series, before they get too serious, that are just a laugh riot! And any of the OVAs. Nagas laugh is a massive stress reliever. Laughing

Stress reliever anime? Hmmm, all I can think of are Miyazaki titles and Studio Ghibli releases like My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Cat Returns... They're stress relievers for me... Heart warming, light-hearted, adventure... Yeah I recommend Miyazaki titles and Studio Ghibli releases... Very Happy

For me if I'm watching some anime as a stress reliever I either want some light funny comedy or some solid action. I want to laugh or just watch some explosions, gun fights, or other fast paced action. So for me a good stress reliever anime would be series like Wallflower, Excel Saga, or Azumanga Daioh in terms of comedy. For some stress relieving action I turn to titles like Black Lagoon, Bleach, or Cowboy Bebop.

I'm with GreatTeacherKen. This is the reason why I love slife so much! Titles like Aria and Azumanga Daioh really get me in a good mood. I prefer manga over anime when it comes to relieving stress, Yotsuba&! being one of my favorites.

Actually, just before I went off to college, I was extremely stressed and couldn't stop freaking out. I would try to hold in my tears and would have trouble breathing sometimes. So, before I left I read a few pages of Aria, which really cheered me up. I was smiling and it helped the tears flow easier. I also had to drag along my scruffy Gaara plushie I've had since forever ago. Poor thing is so battered up... Embarassed

Watching anime like Kanon (2006 version) has helped me relax a little while I'm here. Now that I've finished it, I'm relying on Clannad to keep me busy and take my mind off things, as well as Ghost Hound and a few others.

I seem to like to get myself into blood to relieve my stress, which points to none other than Hellsing Ultimate, since it's fun to see spoiler[Alucard beat up on other vampires, as well as seeing Seras discovering her vampiric nature.]

Anime as a whole relieves my stress regardless of whatever title or genre it is. Though, I think the best stress reliever would be either a comedy or a slice-of-life anime. Ouran High School Host Club is comedy in the truest sense of the word so it might be a good stress reliever. Another one is Honey and Clover, it's a slice-of-life anime with a touch of comedy.

I guess people like different things when they are down...

Wolf's rain and grave of the fireflies are the ones i usually turn to.

Helps me cry.
