Whats everyones favorite almost Hentai show? Mine was girls bravo but I loved the ecchi aspects of alot of shows like elphen lied.....lets just face it boobies make even serious shows better lol! So shows did the rest of you like for this reason? (not full blown hentai)

My favorite ecchi is probably Ichigo 100%. While the plot is laughable half the time, the girls are very attractive and half the time I wish I could be that guy in his ever-increasing harem. Plus, since I watched it with my cliche/cheesiness detector shut off, the plot was actually extremely entertaining and fun to watch.
The nudity in EL was most definitely not for arousal purposes, rather it was to enhance the depiction of cruelty against the diclonius, thus the series doesn't qualify as ecchi.
Generally, inappropriate fanservice lowers my opinion of a show. There's a time and place for fanservice, but heavy moments are not one of them. |

Uh, I always see fans of Elfen Lied throw the "It's symbolism!" line whenever people point out the nudity in the series, but I never saw that at all. And this is coming from me before I really became away of the whole "lolicon phenomenom." Anyway, I'm usually indifferent to sexual fanservice so long as it doesn't hamper down the anime, andn usually hate ecchi harem romance works like Love Hina, Ichigo 100%, Elfen Lied (I know I'll probably get outraged replies in response to that), etc. but on the rare occasion the perverseness works wonders. Golden Boy is still one of my favorite anime comedies because the whole packaging, including the awesome English dub, is delivered so well. Re: Cutie Honey also uses its fanservice to really enchance its campyness and just wouldn't be as fun without the gratuitous nudity. |

I think the fanservice in Mahoromatic works very well with the show: You've got a single guy who collects porn mags living with a cute android maid who hates perversion, plus it's a Gainax show. What a brilliant combination. All the ecchi scenes act more like the comic relief in the story but without them, the story itself stands well on its own. In some parts it gets a little out of hand "BOOBYMISSILES!!" but hey it's a Gainax production and what's Gainax without fanservice? And I think in Mahoromatic it never drags down the serious and emotional parts of the show.

Then perhaps you just don't see those aspects of humanity the same way as they seem to be intended to be seen. Either way, the OP seriously needs to read Teh Rules before he posts again. |
