So I was thinking, if Toonami decides not to air the filler arc of Naruto then as of right now there are 56 episodes left. By showing one episode a week with no breaks then we would be on Shippuden in Feb 08. Now Toonami does atleast 3 Naruto marathons a year so that means it would come here before Feb. That is ofcoarse if the filler arc is skipped and I can see Toonami doing this since they probably know what everyone thinks of it. So does anyone else see Viz just skipping the filler and realesing it right to DVD to get to Shippuden faster? And if they do that do you think they will maybe try to have a few more marathons or atleast try to have every mathron have 4 episodes?

I actually don't think they will skip the filler, or not all of it anyway. Because people like me, even though we don't like it and wish it didn't exist will buy it anyway because it must be complete, and since Viz might not takethe filler away, Toonami will most likely show it too. At the most they'll condense the filler down to the "select" few good/interesting arcs.

Well, first, Cartoon Network only tends to do marathons if they skip several weeks prior to the marathon, or if most of the episodes are reruns, so it really doesn't advance the schedule any.

That aside, I think it's quite possible that they would skip the filler and run with Shippuden, but I doubt they're take the filler direct to video. My bet is that they'll either save it until after Shippuden as a "well, we might as well show you this now," or that they'll run both shows at the same time, perhaps even back to back.

Ya, they might do the GT thing and have "Naruto, the lost chapters" and show it at a seperate time slot then Shippudan when we get there.

Um, that's great and all but wouldn't Shippuuden have to be licensed first? I mean, I completely see it being licensed at some point, but wondering when it will be on TV should probably be speculated on after "when will it be licensed?" No? I mean for all anyone knows, Viz might decide to wait on purchasing the license until they are at least close to finishing all 220 episodes of the first series. They're on what, episode 40 right now on the DVDs?

What's worse (or better) is if it gets licensed by another company. I mean ADV may snatch it and laugh like they did Ah! My Goddess.

It should get lincensed then rather sooner than later but mine concern about Naruto is that if they start showing all the filler. Will the Americans audicences be able to stomach the fillers until its over or lose interest in the show.

I'm hoping Viz picks Shipuuden up and not somebody else, because if that happens, guess what? All new voices for the characters. I hate when that
happens Evil or Very Mad I would also think that Viz would want to snatch this up before someone else can as Naruto has done very well for them.

I'm hoping that the fillers get reduced, because from what I've been reading in the Manga and episodes I've seen, I really like Part 2 better and I want them to get to it asap. But I also realize that Viz probably paid a really good sum of money for Part 1 and are probably going to milk it for everything they can.

I thought about Cartoon Network airing the fillers and Shippuuden back to back, too, but it just seems too complicated for fillers, and confusing for the kids.

Viz is the master licensor for Naruto in the U.S., they thy probably have it already. It really depends on how the contract is written and whether Shipuuden is considered a separate property entirely, but even if they don't, for some wierd legalese reason, they'll get it. It's just a matter of when it will air.

I could see it going either way If they think the filler episodes would lose them a lot of viewers they may decide to treat the filler as 'lost episodes' to release later. I can't see many people purchasing those episodes if they've seen them on TV already, so if I were them, I would try to get some extra money by making those episodes only available on DVD.

Naruto fans buying the DVDs should really hope they save the filler episodes for a much later release. At the current release rate of the uncut DVDs, It's already going to be 4 years before they reach the filler episodes. If they don't save the filler for later, it will be another 3.5 on top of that.

Do you think the younger audience would even care that its filler? Does the younger audience even know what fillers are?

Naruto is popular and people will watch. We've seen this with other shows so there should be nothing getting in Naruto's way.

^ I agree. Do you honestly believe that like 3 seasons of a tv show (albeit pointless and low quality ones) would be passed over because people who watch the show illegally know how crappy they are? Unless Naruto wound up losing huge ratings because of them then I don't think the filler would get skipped.

Well it's ratings did drop dramatically in Japan during the filler, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened here as well. Sure, the younger viewing audience would probably be enough to keep it going at least, but they probably still will loose tons of viewers nonetheless. I mean, how manny kids know or even care that One Piece's dub was a hack job, and just look at what happened to it.

Fact of the matter is, people who don't know about fillers (except for maybe the kids) will eventually realize through watching them just how crappy those episodes are, thus a whole new generation of people who will do the same thing we did, and viewership will drop dramatically.

I personally like the idea of just simply releasing them latter as lost episodes. Just simply makes more sense to me.

My understanding of that situation was that the original dub company didn't have any interest in doing the second season.

Although Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden are considered two different series, but however, they're still the same thing, because Some torrent sites does;nt list shippuuden on there, because as you know, when an anime gets licensed, Animesuki immediantly removes an anime off the site.

However, there are exceptions when that site will show a movie on that site related to the tv series that they have'nt licensed yet.

in other words, if Shippuuden was unlicensed yet,Most Main Torrent sites such as AS would be listing Shippuuden torrents by now.
