What channel do you think is the best? The one that shows animes you want to see most. Do you prefer Adult Swim (AS)over Anime Unleashed (AU) or a different channel (I only get AS and AU)? And why?

I prefer AS because it has better shows, in my opinion. Shows that i want to see. And AU gets annoying with all the commercials and AU doesnt have have as appealing shows. The only show i watch on AU is Dual. AS i watch pretty much all their shows.

So what do you prefer?

I don't get AU and AS has FLCL, while AU has Boogiepop. FLCL is a perfect Gainax romp, while Boogiepop frightens and disturbs me worse than Eva. I do not like that. Eva caused enough damage to me.

I prefer The Anime Network overall because there's a ton of shows I can check out. They also seem to be added new shows every month. The bad thing is they only update once a month, but that gives me plenty of time to go through their entire menu and still have time left over to watch other things.

But of those two choice, I have to go with AS....I don't get AU Wink

I believe AU's on TechTV and The Anime Network is currently available only in Philly and New York. Am I right?

Anyway, since I haven't got either channel I would have to choose AS, wouldn't I? I have seen the lineup on AU and it seems like it has some good shows though.

So far...you have to have digital cable and live in one of the cities that has it. (Philadelphia, Boston, New York....I'm not sure where else.) You can go to their site and fill out the thingy to demand the channel from your cable provider.

AU annoys me with their several commerical breaks. I don't care much for the genres (scifi/techie/whatever it is they are) they show. I watched Lain and most of Betterman. I've only glanced at some of their other shows, because I forget in the afternoon and I'm usually watching the AS shows during their night run.

So obviously, I like AS better. It's got more action and stuff. It also doesn't get bogged down by deep detailed explanations of what's happening physically, emotionally, and philosophically like AU's shows seem to have. I don't like having to think that hard. ^-^;

I don't have AU, so I have to say AS. But without seeing I can put two things to AS's advantage. They have fewer brakes and seldom have to cut for time, and the cards they use for bumpers add a lot of personality to the block, I find it endearing.

I have to go with AS. Nothing on AU has really piqued my interest except Crest of the Stars, and the dub just ruined it for me. I may give Betterman, Boggiepop and Soul Taker another chance, but I just couldn't get into them when they were shown. Also, the format with the frequent breaks is annoying. I'd like to see them go to the one break format like AS.

On the plus side, they do show the intros to the shows, which is nice.

Also, for Tivo users, the AU shows are all under the genral title "Anime Unleashed." The AS shows show up under their specific titles. I have more control on the AS block, whereas I am forced to record everything on AU.

I like AU because of GK 21, Betterman, Dual, but after they are done, what's left. Sure BP looks cool, but confuses the heck out of me, and Crest of the Stars is good once you get past the dub. And well, AS. They keep bring out more news series then them. As much as I enjoy TechTV, they really need to bring out more new series so they have something to keep the fans coming back for more.

Yeah, blame the Turner BS&P for that. Although WS seems to be making some headway in loosening the standards.
