This thread is an attempt at a “master thread” for the season. One thread to talk about the season as a whole from preview to postmortem and only the subtitle will change. I’ll index the different sections as I change the title as well as link to threads for the shows that members create dedicated threads for.

Still no Panty and Stocking 2...
Anways the definites that I'm looking at right now are: Ben-to - My most anticipated and it sounds like an absolute riot. Kind of like Ramen Fighter Miki meets Kenichi. Fate/Zero - I liked the first one and this one is supposed to be a 100x better according to all the VN fans. Besides, it's going to be gorgeous thanks to ufotable and Gen Urobochi is my new stalk after what he made in Madoka. Coppelein - I remember this being announced a long time ago. I am curious, though, as to what it's actually about, like why the girls are sent to radioactive Tokyo, but I guess I'll find once I watch it. Guilty Crown - Something about pulling weapons out of people intrigues me, even though it sounds like the plot to another show I can't remember. Maybes: Maji de Watashi - It sounds like poo, but it also looks to be only one of two pure comedies being offered, so I feel obligated to try it out. Starting out with slapstick in the summary really reeled me in. Ugh. Mirai Nikki - Meh. It's interesting sounding at first, but the more I think about it the less excited I get. I think I'll get all the future manipulation I need from Mawaru Penguindrum this season, and it's two cour. I'll also probably watch Steins;Gate around that time if I decide to wait for the dub, and that's another similar premise. I guess future manipulation is "in" now. And another light season for me. YAY! I'd watch Shana 3, but I have to imagine Funimation will get the home video rights, so I'll wait for that. |

The only thing I might have an interest in is Maji de Watashi. Otherwise nothing really interests me for the fall season at the moment.

Mirai Nikki is pretty much my most anticipated show of the season since I first got into the manga through a fake trailer, and the manga ended meaning the anime should cover everything. I don;t know what to expect given it;s asread, but hopefully it;ll be a decent adaption(and and possibly include material from the two side manga volumes).
Also looking forward too: Persona 4: Love the game and I know it could make a pretty good anime Gundam AGE: I;m not too into Gundam but I'll give it a shot even if it;s supposedly a kid's show. It;s sad how anime fans forget that good kids' shows exist. Bakuman Season 2: like the manga, liked season 1, nuff' said Fate/Zero: Still need to see the rest of Fate Stay Night, but I liked it enough to check this out Shakugan no Shana III: Still need to watch season 2 but I liked season 1 so I;ll check this out. Hopefully more shows will show up but the season is satisfying so far for me. |

I think I'll attempt to watch about every series that is on the chart for Fall except for maybe two. Nothing seems to really intrigue me. Fate/Zero seems like it'll good with the staff involved, Gen Urobuchi and ufotable, but F/SN did disappoint me. I have the same thoughts on Mirai Nikki as TKoH. I'll be watching the noitaminA shows as usual. Shakugan no Shana 3 sounds interesting but I have not watched the previous seasons.
Funny thing is, at this point, Horizon in The Middle of Nowhere seems to be my most anticipated show. Mecha, big boobies, cute girlies, interesting plot summary, PVs, has gotten me interested. It just sounds like a delicious show. |

Hmm... I see that Shaft was noticeably absent from that chart. Does anyone know if they are attached to one of the upcoming shows, or are they completely absent from the fall schedule?

Let's see what sticks out for me:
-Fate/Zero- Seeing as I've seen the Stay Night TV series and UBW movie where I got decent enjoyment from the former and found the latter to be a rush job, why not? -Mirai Nikki- Seeing a psychological thriller anime to kick start the month of October for Halloween should be a treat. -Guilty Crown/ Un-Go- Noitamina, nuff said. -Coppelion- Premise has me curious, especially as I'm surprised an anime adaptation of it is being made in light of the nuclear reactor issues that hit Japan following the earthquake/ tsunami. -Bakuman II- While I was put off with how the Miho/Mashiro relationship was being handled in terms of believability in the last season, I did get latched on the developments of Takagi and Mashiro with their struggles in the manga industry. Might give the second season a shot despite not digging the relationship element to the series. -Last Exile: Ginyoku no Nam- Will also try to give this one a whirl just because I've seen the earlier season of it. |

Gee, I wonder how many of these will be incest or loli shit, lazy-ass harem garbage, brainless 22-minute fetish collections, disgusting displays of misogyny, lame tsundere crap, something promoting a children's toy, some overused shonen theme or something based on an eroge or slot machine.
But holy crap, new season of Squid Girl and Persona 4 anime? Yes please! |

In the OP I linked to a newer chart I somehow overlooked earlier today, still no mention of a Shaft anime- odd.

Last Exile 2, Bakuman 2, Guilty Crown, Un-Go, and apparently Lupin the 3rd. Those are the only ones I'm giving a crap about. I would like to say Shana of the Burning Eyes 3, but I haven't even seen all of season 2 and I don't think I care to watch the latter half of the 2nd seqason any time soon because I've been really burned out from consuming 3 times as many anime shows as I normally use to for the past couple of years. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes on Last Exile 2 and Bakuman definitely, and I'm definitely hoping to know more about the shows before they air. Beyond that, I need to cut back significantly on what I'm watching.

Truth be told, you might be able to skip Shakugan no Shana II and still not miss a beat. There was very little accomplished in SnS II...in fact, it downright sucked. I recommend you skip it. |

Hmm... I'm looking forward to Shakugan no Shana III, The World God only Knows OVA, Aa Megami-Sama, and Persona 4. The ones that interest me and that I might watch are...

@ Spastic Minnow
I know they are working on Kizumonogatari, but an absence from both the summer and fall schedule does seem a little odd. One has to hope that they are putting all their resources into crafting their next magnum opus with Kizumonogatari. But then again, this is Shaft we are talking about, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they hadn’t even begun animating episode 13 for Denpa yet. @ Hypeathon This is probably the most complete and detailed summary of the events of Shakugan no Shana season one and two that you will ever come across. After watching this you should be more than ready to handle the complexities and intricate plot of season three. Detailed video summary of the events of season one and two of Shakugan no Shana |

Must See:
Nothing at the moment which is rather disappointing for a fall season. Prospects: Anyone know what Un-Go is? The other new noitaminA show apparently. Can't really say anything until we know more. Hopefully this will turn into a must see once I know more. Coppelion could be good. It sounds like it's relatively hard Sci-Fi at least. I'm always wary of a show where for some totally contrived reason, the main characters are conveniently high school girls. It'll be interesting to see how Fate/Zero turns out. I rather like FSN but you could clearly see they had trimmed out a lot of otaku crap which really saved the show. If the change in studios for Zero results in a more faithful adaptation then it could potentially turn into a mess real fast. Then again, I hear that Zero isn't too bad about that stuff so maybe it will be good regardless. Long Shots: Guilty Crown is apparently a noitamiA show. That surprises me. It sounds awfully generic. Mirai Nikki has an intriguing premise but it looks pretty likely given the pictures it looks like it will be a harem so that's probably out. Nothing about Phi Brain makes me immediately write it off entirely although it sounds awfully shounen-ish so I don't have high expectations. Other: I've been playing through Persona 4 the game recently and I'm not entirely sure if an adaptation is necessary for such a story heavy game but it doesn't hurt to have it out there and I suppose I'll probably check it out eventually. |
