This one is pretty close to Master Piece grade of the site’s voting system.

From how the story goes to visuals to music, it is nearly perfect within the framework of the genre used.

The project was lead by the same guy who did Ping Pong anime, so no wonder. Obviously, it is a totally different mood, and the visuals as not as intentionally artsy-wonky.

I started to watch it last year, I'm currently on episode 6 and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with the animation and the storyline. I got to give it to Science SARU & Masayuki Yuasa for animating a show. It's because of that show, I was able to watch other anime done by that studio like Ride your Wave, and also currently, Dandadan. I've been wanting to watch other Devilman series like the original 1972 series (thank goodness it's on BD courtesy of Discotek), the OVAs from 87, and I want to read the original manga by Go Nagai (thank you Seven Seas for licensing and translating it).

I got to finished watching the ONA series on Netflix.
