 Please can anyone give legal anime sites that you can LEGALLYdownload from? This would be greatly appreciated.

Well before that, let me ask you if you're looking to pay, or are you wanting free.
If you don't mind paying then I'm sure others can help you with actual websites cause the only place I know to do so is off of X-Box Live and Playstation Network. As for free, uh I don't think you will find websites where you can download aside from the 'illegal' sites. Streaming is a different story. FUNimation even has a Youtube channel where you can watch some of their anime and even some that hasn't been released in the US yet. |

Don't forget the iTunes Store. I notice in the Canadian one, for example, that shows like Death Note, Naruto and Bleach are available for legal, paid downloading. |

Your almost always better off buying the dvds during a sale then paying to download episodes. Pricing is usually the same or cheaper and you have more options in viewing and can actually re-sell items at a later date.
Just my 2 cents but make sure before you start paying to download you look to see how much it would cost for entire show compared to just buying the dvds. |

yea iTunes store is getting alot more anime now, so you can watch it on the go.
crunchy roll is another good one for free legal anime sites and even here. |

You can try iTunes. There are not many sites where you can download anime from. Though, you can try Internetarchive for classic anime series but don't expect the popular ones. Instead of downloading, try Crunchyroll, Animelab, viewster for free anime streaming.

I avoid Apple products so I'm asking this out of ignorance. When you buy a show on iTunes do you get downloadable files that you can store yourself, or do you just get streaming rights? The OP appears to be asking about download-to-own options which I think are pretty scarce. Obviously if we're talking about streaming, there are now many options from specialized sites like Crunchyroll to broader services like Hulu. |
