I might have to check out Ai Yori Aoshi. I read the manga way back in the day… started off pretty strong, and as an early example of a seinen romantic drama that we actually got here, it was a sensible next step for people who'd read or seen romcoms like Ah! My Goddess, Kimagure Orange Road, Maison Ikokku, etc. But the manga went on too long, and while 18+ fanservice of the main harem was OK for what it was, I really didn't care for when the series introduced some much younger characters and started leering at them too… started to feel like borderline child pornography, ick. Check out my Amazon review from 11 years ago, yikes.
Anyways, that's why I never sought out the DVDs back in the pre-streaming, buy-before-you-try, 5 episodes-per-disc era. So, maybe worth a try now that it's on Crunchy. Maybe. |

Ai Yori Aoshi was an enjoyable watch. I haven't reread the manga in awhile but I do remember the Manga having some very different story arcs that the Anime never really touched on.
NHK was also a good watch as was Is this a Zombie? |

While I haven't seen the subbed version of Ai Yori Aoshi (counting both series), I did enjoy Michelle Ruff as Aoi-chan. For a woman who turned 50 last Friday, Michelle still looks good for her age.
