Wow, I had no idea this was getting close to the end. I'm a bit surprised he's not being pressured to drag it out longer, but I'm glad he's ending it, seemingly, as he sees fit.

Nah, more like 10.
Volume 61 ended with chapter 527. We are at 534 at the moment. 8 chapters per volume means that it should end around 543, unless the final volumes contain more.

Frankly, I'm glad he's ending it how he wants to. I think he should have quit while he was ahead before the first timeskip, but... heck. If it's ending anyway, I might actually finish the damn thing.

I love Fairy Tail so im really sad it ending, but better end in a great way than to drag on like some others did. Now its waiting for the anime to return. How many episodes can they make with the material that is left?

I dunno. Right now, the only currently-running shonen titles that I'm regularly buying are Seraph of the End, My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball Super, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan, and To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts (seems like a lot, except I'm buying way more non-shonen stuff). They each offer me something different, and I'm not sure Fairy Tail would make it onto my shelves if it was just another fantasy battle comic. It's the over-the-top character designs that draw me to the series.

I honestly am just gonna wait and see how this plays out don't want him to wrap up these last 2 fights in 10 or so chapters but considering how short the fights have been for this arc i guess ill be wrong.And i honestly just hope acnologia doesn't go out like this via raven of time. I would have loved to see all the dragon slayers vs acno even if power scaling wise it wouldn't have made scene still would be cool

This is going of the assumption that it while end at 545 but If they do the 2 chapters per episode, like they kinda did for the tartaros arc. then around 62 amusing that they dont add any fluff to pad out the fights(Which would be greatly appreciated) nor any filler episodes.

So about 10 chapters left to go. Let's see if Zeref will succed or not. Honestly by this point I'm rooting for him. He must overcome his biggest obstacle BS Nakama Power. GO ZEREF I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!!!!!!

Aside from a couple of Slice of Life episodes I don't think there will be much filler especially if the anime returns once Mashima has wrapped FT up.
Hopefully the anime starts winter.
