You know, if anime and manga allowed a voice to be heard from overseas, they might not have to pull out all of the stops so soon. I know the U.S. as an audience isn't exactly something Japan puts high on their list but as far as what they expect to gain but the older generations do have a history of reading comics even though the younger generations don't. Japan should take that into account but I do understand their point of view if they believe most people over here would rather have an anime rather than a manga. I completely agree, I would rather have anime than light novels, novels, visual novels, and manga.
I guess it was only a matter of time. |

So wait, this is targeting Youtube? Well damn. Uh...I guess the whole fair use thing's up in arms again. Hope it doesn't affect too much.

The term pirate hunter just sounds hysterical to me.
A shame that they can't be put to work on the more dangerous pirates in the seven seas, but ah well. |

WA-WAAAA-WWAAAA-WAIT! WAIT! WAIT FOR IT! DUNNN DUN DUN DUNNNN!!!!!! He can hunt me down any day... but I'm no pirate so it's just a red herring. Seriously, last time they called upon a bunch of main characters including, ironically, a pirate (Luffy) to fight illegal streaming. No Zoro this time though? Really? He totally FITS the pirate hunter pirate role. |

A meager number of pirate hunters won't be able to slow down piracy. Fansubs literally die, only if they are lazy and downloaders won't be slowed down by this mere warning.

That MAG search engine is one of the saddest things I've seen. a coalition of 15 large Japanese companies came together to fight piracy and the best URL they could come up with was manga-anime-here.com?
I guess it's not surprising that I can't seem to connect to the search engine. |

Shhh, while they're bringing up the website, the rest of society is charging their laser... 16 years ago. But credit does need to go where credit is due. And it would if the legal streaming companies would make sure of that to begin with, Japan wouldn't have to crack down as hard on illegal stream as the DEA does from start to finish. |

I hope this doesn't target Youtube specifically. Fair use law applies to Youtube, as it is an American website. Regardless of the footage's country of origin or the uploader's nationality, it follows American copyright law.

You should know by now, Japan, that you can't stop good old Jolly Roger. Give it up and try something different like making your DVDs, BDs, and CDs less of a ripoff so more people buy them legally.
I'd like to say I'm anti-piracy, and I am 99% of the time, but it wouldn't be true since there still are cases nowadays where it's the only option to watch something if you don't live in Japan and don't speak Japanese. Last edited by Kruszer on Tue Jun 21, 2016 7:31 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Oh man! I was going to make a Zoro joke! His offical nickname is Pirate Hunter. I wonder if it was meant to be a sly One Piece joke with the headline. |

Well, the thing will be not easy to resolve. It will live "Forever", as long as they are not "open".
I buy legal stuff most of the time (video games, manga, to the point that I put Black Butler in hold just to support, however, the only thing I avoid is music for reasons.) while waiting one week to get an anime (I am a poor soul) in Crunchy that interests me. Not sure what to say anymore... |

The problem is that Japan just doesn't get online distribution and sees it as a threat, not as an opportunity.

Wait what?! Why not make downloading and torrenting legal instead by abolishing the DMCA?
