Hi, guys, just letting you all know I'm new to the whole forum thing so if I do anything wrong, please don't hate on me! I've never posted on one of these things before! Thanks!
So, I personally love the anime and manga, Soul Eater and I've heard rumor to the fact that the director or someone else hinted they planned on doing something special and would "remake" for a manga that was coming to an end at the time, and of course, the most popular manga being published by Gangan Comics at the time was Soul Eater. I just wanted to know if this was true and your opinions on the remake! The remake is supposedly supposed to be like how FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was done, where the remake follows the plot from the point of where it broke away from the manga. Soul Eater's anime was changed because of the fact that while the anime was catching up to the manga while being published, no one wanted to release spoilers for the manga so the plot was altered. Now that the manga is done, the remake is supposedly going to be made. Meanwhile, I heard that at a press conference, Chiaki Omigawa (Maka's Japanese voice actress) leaked that BONES also planned on doing a short anime series that follows the spin-off series from Soul Eater, Soul Eater NOT! Ideas on this one? In my opinion, for the Soul Eater remake, this is going to be a good thing, but definitely a sad thing for Soul Eater as well... For those of you who haven't read the manga, I won't bring up any big spoilers, but the manga definitely does have a happy ending, but there are a lot of things that will scare you and definitely break your heart. I know I cried a bit in a few of the chapters and the manga definitely is much better than the anime. The manga shows the characters mature as time passes on, meanwhile, the anime has the characters change drastically, but mostly in negative ways (Maka becomes somewhat insecure, Soul becomes snappy, and Black Star goes insane for a while). For the Soul Eater NOT! spin-off, I'm not quite sure on what I have to say for this one... It follows a whole new set of characters and barely uses their original characters and Death the Kid isn't involved in the series at all. Also, the characters are part of the NOT class so they're definitely going to be a lot weaker than the original three meisters and their weapons. However, I do think it's interesting that two characters from Soul Eater NOT! are brought into the main manga, one hinted to be part of the Star Clan... Anyways, your opinions on the remake that is supposedly upcoming? Any news about it? Any updates of Soul Eater NOT! coming out? |

There is no remake coming. The only plans for a new Soul Eater anime series are for Soul Eater NOT.

But I'm sure a lot of your content could just as well be copied and pasted into the discussion thread, as a lot of it appears to be relevant for the anime-to-manga comparison without being too speculative in itself. |
