Hi guys, this is my first time posting, so I'm a little nervous. I saw the trailer for the show and it looked cool (the death's were detailed and the artwork was good, and the plot seems to flow well.) I was wondering if anyone read the manga? Is the detail the same, because I heard they changed artists or something. Also, do you reccommend reading it or is it not worth it? Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Manga contains more details than anime.

Hmm, never heard of that. Replacing staff is not uncommon in anime (a recent and more well-known example was Nagisa Miyazaki of Negima), but I have yet heard any manga replacing manga-ka.

Yes. In addition, I'd like to recommend every ANN user reading more manga, including Elfen Lied.

Welcome to ANN's fora.

Hey thanks. By the way, is it in English anywhere? I cannot find the dvd's or the manga no matter where I look.

No U.S. releace for the manga, you have to import it.
The DVDs for the series, I see them at Best Buy almost every time I go in.

Of course not.

If stores around your area don't carry it, reconsider putting money into a checking account so you can buy item online.

Yes, the DVDs are at Best Buy. And if you want to read the manga and it hasn't yet been published in English, good luck getting an English version. My suggestion: If you really want to, you can get a few Japanese-English/Kanji dictionaries and attempt to translate them yourself. Granted, it takes a long time, but it's actually sort of fun. Then again, it's difficult to get untranslated manga on this side of the Pacific anyway.

Only if someone licenses the manga.

Honestly, you're probably better off waiting for the English-language release if you don't know any Japanese--even with a dictionary, finding the entries for the characters is tough if you don't know about stroke counts and radicals, and even when you do find them, the way that kanji are combined might not make sense. Now, there may be various unofficial English versions out there, but it would be against Teh rules to say where.

That is interesting. I checked out the manga. In all honesty, the character designs are pretty poor, and the violence is really toned down, it is just a few dots and a crushed finger. What does everyone else think about the manga?
