I am thinking you probably misunderstood something, but Armitage is not pornographic, ecchi-ish or hentai-ish in any way. I found the story to be very well done, as well as the music, animation and artwork. It's about a woman, to be precise, a robotic woman, who is being chased by an evil man's organization. The story unfolds, and becomes quite interesting and engrossing.

Dual Matrix is a sequel to Armitage III: Polymatrix. Both are about a Third series female robot, a model so advanced that it can pass for human in nearly every sense, including being able to think for itself and get pregnant. In the first movie all other robots of Armitage's type were eliminated because of the political, economic, and ethical threats such a robot could pose. She managed to go underground and have a kid, but a few years later a guy on Earth attempted to duplicate her in an effort to delve into the secrets of how she could get pregnant (this is where the second movie starts). This lures her back to Earth to put a stop to it all, but not without having to team up with her husband to rescue her daughter and fight off some really twisted versions of herself.
Both Armitage movies are action-focused sci-fi pieces which toy with deeper issues but don't take the time to explore them. Although there is some nudity in each one, they are nowhere near being hentai titles. I would rate them as being of average quality overall as action movies go - maybe worth a purchase but not a high-priority one.

I liked Polymatrix. Get that instead. Dualmatrix is one of the most craptacular anime movies of all time. Its right up there with M.D. Giest.

Forget them both. Get the original four-episode OVA series instead. Besides, Elizabeth Berkeley's voice acting is just as horrible as her on-screen acting.

Please, ratings dont do anything for me.
Its like how all the ANN monitors say "you need a better description or we'll lock this."
I am asking for you're opinion. Not some stupid statistic.

I disagree with reviews 2 out of 3 times, aswell. They may have Polymatrix at your local video rental place. Even if they don't have alot of anime, they probably carry it because its well known, mostly because it was one of the cyber-punk movies that got a US theatrical release (ala Ghost in the Shell and Akira). Than you can maybe decide whether you'd want to buy it or the OVA DVDs. But be warned Dual Matrix is crap. The story is just lame. And even though I usually don't make a huge fuss over animation produciton values, they are atrocious to the point where it hurts my eyes. It was made specificly for the US market, which is sometimes a bad sign.

Ah, but with the statistics, you're getting everyone's opinion. Those numbers speak of the collective opinions of a number of people - as opposed to a single yea-or-nay.
Statistics aren't "stupid". Granted, some people use statistics stupidly - but the data itself isn't to blame.

The majority is also easily biased. Statistics are pretty useless in relation to art.

Both the films were pretty good, I have them on DVD, though the first was better. I haven't seen the OAV yet.
