Sure its only 3 series but it seems like Funimations grabing all the series originally distributed by Square Enix in Japan. Some may know them as the manga lincesed in Yen Plus Magazine.

Considering the number of series Funimation has picked up recently, it seems more coincidence than pattern, but even if it were, would it signify anything?

Funimation likes to get a good amount of good anime. This only means that Square Enix is putting out some good anime. Funimation jumps at anything that looks promising, they want to get a monopoly on the new anime market for the coming years (and with the way things are going, they just might do it).

Higurashi was never licensed by FUNimation. It was licensed by Geneon Entertainment, but after their hibernation period they struck a deal with FUNimation to distribute the remaining episodes the Geneon licensed.

I would hope it could mean Bamboo Blade might get licensed soon, but that's only hope.
