What makes you say that? ShoPro was a parent company of Viz anyway.

Besides, it's not like they've swallowed up more projects than they can handle, like some other US anime companies...

Couldn't agree more. I like the new logo as well. I've always liked dark colors and the red and black look great, a lot better than the orange and green.


I despise with a passion the new logo. The word 'meDIa' is not centered. The 'V' in Viz really hits a nerve, too. The left side also has more whitespace than the right side, making the logo unbalanced. Also, the word 'meDIa' with a capital 'DI' annoys my eyes, too, and again since the 'DI' is too the right, it makes the right side heavier! And the white color also bugs me. The red and black makes the logo sink into the page more but the white pops out and hurts my eye more than a seizure causing pokemon! Okay, enought of my logo rant.

The name I don't really care about since me and my friends will still just call it Viz.

If that annoys you then I can just imagine how you feel about the vizmeDia.com logo which only capitalizes the D (funny thing is they don't own the domain "www.vizmedia.com" so what's the point of calling the website that?).

Anywho, I actually like this logo better than the last logo, the eye and book logo didn't do anything for me and looked very out of place on DVDs. I'm still pretty fond of the original Viz Video logo, but I guess it's part of the outward image of keeping things fresh.

This is a great branding choice. No Pioneer-->Geneon situation where the name completely changes and confuses the dumber fans. No one asking who this "new company Geneon" is or stupid and uninformed "explanations" of the name change. Phew.

Nicer sounder than Viz, LLC too.
