The new OP - Oh God, auto-tune has infected Jpop/rock too I can't stand that sound... Luckily, it did only last for the intro & it did get better from there. But "Daybreak's Bell" & "Ash Like Snow" are much, MUCH better IMHO...
The A-Laws seem to be this season's version of the Titans from Zeta? BTW, & a minor nit pick, I was guessing A-Laws would be pronounced as it appears, or like Fonzie says "Ayyy!"... The way it's done for this dub it sounds like they are saying "outlaws" or "ahhh-laws" - was this a mistake??
It's not the first time this has happened in the Gundam-verse: the Titans in Zeta were pronounced titans as in "teen titans" or "Clash of the ..." but in either CCA (or F91?) they were pronounced "tetons" like the mountains (or, if you speak Spanish, boobs )
Sad to see the state that Sumeragi Lee Noriega was in & Setsuna was kind of a prick the way he "ratted" her out in front of Billy...
Poor Louise, seems as if she's dependent on medications but somehow has her hand back, is it a prosthetic? The medical personnel at the end of the 1st season said it couldn't be regenerated due to particles used by the Thrones.

BellosTheMighty, not only did Lyle appear in the first season, but Neil mentioned him, too.
That's all right, though. Season 2 suffered in the fandom from people having not paid attention to the first season, so I'm not surprised you didn't.
dtm42, I disagree. Lyle is the better character by far, because Neil didn't really have to persevere through anything, Lyle developed throughout the second season. And neither of the brothers were lady's men, I don't know what show you were watching.
It's not like Space Battleship Yamato, where they brought in Kato's twin brother in Be Forever, who looked and acted just like him and nobody ever said anything about it, because the reason the production team put him back in was people missed the character. Lyle was an established plot point from episode 9 of the first season and on. |
Thank you. Yes, Lyle is a significantly different Character from Niel, though as this is the english dub we're talking about I guess those who see him as being the same as his brother just haven't seen enough of the series to see his character defined. The broadcast is only at what, episode 3 or 4? Something along those lines. As for Louise's hand, yeah it is prosthetic, I'm not sure if it's gotten far enough in the states yet, but relatively soon after her being re-introduced there's a scene in the locker room when she's in her tank top and if your video quality is good enough you can see the skin colored line that separates her arm from the prosthetic.

Yeah, in order to fit all of those commercial breaks in.
Well, I just received part one of the first season(volumes 1 & 2) in the mail today, so I'll be able to start watching this in all it's unedited glory

Yeah, today is episodes 3-4 so Lyle's introduction is just getting started like the episode 4 scene which hasn't happened yet. I agree he is plenty different from Neil, he was good.

Aww, man! Now I have to learn new Gundam names!
Let's see: Double O, Arious, and... that's all I got so far.
Well, action aplenty tonight, and some character development. I did like how Lyle set himself apart from his brother. He took a very direct approach.
I can already tell that I'm going to love this season.

Lyle, the new Lockon is actually quite different from his brother. In fact that's the entire reason he kisses Feldt when he first meets her To prove that he's not his brother and she shouldn't think him being so. |
Having just seen the scene in question, I don't buy it. It looks to me like he's telling himself "I meant to do that!" after getting rightly shot down for being an insensitive, self-centered ass. Then we cut to Allelujah showing up at Sumaragi's door with a bottle of wine and a wicked grin, and all of a sudden the show has turned into a second-rate porno. Never really thought mama-marshmallows went well with wine, but whatever...

A second rate porno? C'mon, you've got to admit you took that a little far, huh? There's the nostalgia factor. You do remember they shared a drink in the first season? Also, I'm sure he is expectedly grateful to her because it was her forecast that facilitated his rescue Besides, I wouldn't mind at all if those two had a relationship of some kind. They aren't robots after all.
I will concede that it is possible Lyle was just saving face, but my opinion stands that he knew what he was doing.

Obviously BellosTheMighty has no idea what he's talking about.
In a second rate porno, Allelujah wouldn't have even bothered with the wine.

You seem to be rather knowledgeable about what goes on in second-rate pornos.

I always thought it was common knowledge that second rate porno budgets don't cover wine. Six-back and a hit of LSD if you're lucky

I know that, but you can't deny the man was looking for something. He just spent four years strapped into a chair, he needs some exercise and some nice pillows to rest his head against. I mean, seriously, look at him:
All that's missing is a rakish twinkle in the eyes and an allegedly clever caption photoshopped in by some 4channer!

Look at her too
If I was a 2 dimensional anime character (& she was receptive), I'd be all over Sumeragi

Ha Ha! Yeah, ok. As I said before, I wouldn't mind seeing an Allelujah/Sumeragi pairing.
