Anyways, nice to see that they're going to air the second season so soon. I just hope that Sci-fi stops cutting stuff for time. Sad
They won't, gotta squish it in the slot after all.

They won't, and they'll speed up the OP and remove the ED (and probably the parts of the show after the ED) too. They're pretty awful about that.

Let's hope the dub has improved. The first season was some of Ocean's worst work in recent memory.

But if they don't cut things, they won't be able to market the DVDs as uncut, new footage or now with deleted scenes.[/b]

Me, obviously.

Brad Swaile seems completely disinterested as Setsuna, Richard Ian Cox is only good for Al's other half Hal, Sergei's voice is ear bleedingly awful, Shirin sounds like she's eighty years old, Graham sounds way too young, Scott McNeil turns out a rare awful performance as Ali, I don't even think a real voice actor voices Patrick, and there are loads of other performances that range from mediocre to awful.

It's almost Blue Water bad.

Yeah, for the most part the dub was pretty bad. But on the plus side it seemed like that they were getting it together towards the end. So we might have an ok dub for the second season.

And on a side note, I would argue that Ocean's worst would be Inuyasha, that dub was just annoying.

And you are...?

I mean, besides the twerp who decided after seeing a five-minute trailer that the Gundam 00 dub was the worst ever, and who continued to iterate that opinion every single week on the board's previous Gundam 00 thread, making a huge ass of himself and driving me up the wall in the process?

And who are you?

Unless you have an argument for why the voice acting is good for this dub, please don't attack mine.

The dub is better than the trailer for it was, but it still isn't good. Ocean's Gundam dubs are usually fairly good, but here we have a few very talented voice actors who just aren't living up to their potential. It really sounds like nobody at the studio gives a damn about this series.

You can't tell me that Brad Swaile is actually in the studio for his performance. It sounds like they went into his home while he was half asleep and had him mumble some lines into a tape recorder. He can do so much better.

I'm not defending it or anything, I like the subs if only for the fact that I saw them first and couldn't get used to the voice change enough to watch the dub. But isn't setsuna supposed to be stoic and unemotive untill the end? I mean Setsuna isn't really known for being bubbly and talking with his crew mates about how smexy the Exia looks in the right light. I always thought Swalie was trying to emulate Heero Yuy or something to that effect.

No, Heero Yuy is unemotional. Setsuna F. Seiei has one strong emotion- barely supressed rage. I thought Swaile stumbled over the angry bouts. And he was actually one of the better performances.

The new season dub just started airing, so it's hard for me to get a good bead on it.

Most of the voices are as generic-sounding as they were in the first season. Some of them have improved, though, like Graham's (he no longer sounds 15) and Shirin's (she no longer sounds 60). Tieria's is a little better, too. Sergei's is just as bad. Setsuna still sounds a little sleepy at times.

Then there's the new voices. Aside from Regene's (which I find excellent), the others sound just as dry and lifeless as most of the others.

Not to mention Sci-Fi cuts all the post-credit scenes for commercial time. It's annoying.

Well that's disgusting. Virtually every single episode of the second season has one to two minutes of scenes after the credits (a novel but annoying approach). If all of them are cut, I don't have to tell you how much that's going to affect the total time you view, not to mention all those cliff-hangers you will miss.
