So pumped! They created two of my favorite manga and I've desperately been hoping that they would make another series, so I'm unbelievably excited for this! Plus it probably won't have as any restrictions as it would if it was in Shonen Jump. Either way, I hope this is as good as their other works!

Oh hell yes! I always up for some Obata, and if Ohba's writing all the better! I'm assuming Viz'll pick this up as a monthly for Weekly Jump, right? We got All You Need is Kill and Gakkyu Hotei (which got cancelled way too prematurely) after all and this time Ohba's back too.

that's the first thing I thought of as well, as they were making it in bakuman I thought it'd be a really cool story to read. hopefully it won't end the way they ended it in bakuman with the main characters dropping from the skies and no one even noticing their deaths or something

What made Bakuman awesome was the fact that Ashirogi Muto hit manga, like PCP and Reversi had the art quality and premise to actually be hit Shonen Jump manga.

Perhaps that was done intentionally. Given the success that Bakuman had in Japan, doing something like that can be a way to draw fans.

Which would be really weird since everyone already interprets Reversi as a stand-in for Death Note (complete with an admission that DN should've ended when L died.)

I also thought of it but as far as I remember, PCP will be the one who will get serialize with the prequel.

I really wonder which direction they will take with this. I know that there were people who were not happy when Bakuman started off since it was nowhere near what Death Note was in terms of tone and story.
I however love both series and am dying to see what kind of story this will develop into.
Also, if Viz do not serialize this from day 1, I will lose all my faith in them.
